The Big Red Chicken's Magic Wand is the 14^th episode of Dora the Explorer from Season 6.

Summary[]

The Big Red Chicken is doing magic tricks today. For his first trick, he turns Boots into a chicken. When he tries to turn him back into a monkey, he lets out a big sneeze that propels the magic wand into Magic Land! Now, he and Dora set off on a magic-filled journey in order to get the wand fixed so Boots can become a monkey again.

Trivia[]

This is the 137th episode of the show.
The early Season 1 version of swiping music is used.
Dora stops Swiper alone without Boots, just like in Best Friends.
- However, she still has the Big Red Chicken (and the viewer) to help her out.
This is the first episode seeing Boots as a chicken, however, he's still a monkey, he's just half chicken, half monkey, which technically makes him a "chunky".
- Because of this, he calls himself "Chicken Boots". Another instance will be when Boots caught the Little Chicks in Dora's Fantastic Gymnastics Adventure and calls himself that as a joke.
When Boots turns into a chicken and wants to be a monkey again, this is the same as when Benny turns into a potato by himself by accident in The Big Potato and wants to be a bull again.
This episode is very similar to The Big Potato and The Big Red Chicken's Magic Show.
- Speaking of which, this episode serves as a sequel to second said episode.
  - Coincidentally, both are written by Rosemary Contreras.
Isa and Benny don't appear in this episode.
Dora and Boots don't travel with each other in this episode because Boots is a chicken. So while Boots stays with Tico, Dora travels with Big Red Chicken instead, but she, of course, still has the viewer at home to help.
The Travel Song's role is taken by the new song "We're Going to the Wand Shop".
It is unknown how Swiper and the Fiesta Trio got into the magic hat if they never knew the magic word on how to get in. This previously occurred in The Big Red Chicken's Magic Show.
Dora, Boots, and their friends are actually outside Dora's House at the end of the episode and for the whole episode the whole time.
This is the final episode, in airing order, where Caitlin Sanchez would voice Dora before her departure.
- Starting with the next episode, Fátima Ptacek took over.
  - In production order, the last episode for Sanchez would be Dora Saves King Unicornio and the first for Ptacek would be Dora's Royal Rescue.
    - However, Sanchez would briefly return to voice Dora one more time in Dora in Troll Land, considering that it was held back to airing during Season 7.

Running Gag[]

The Big Red Chicken's magic wand has been broken the whole trip. That means instead of just saying "Abracadabra", what needs to be said is "Abracadabra, (item asked for)", and as loud as possible in order for the broken wand to work.
