Trivia[]

  • Starting with this episode onward, co-creator Valerie Walsh is now credited as Valerie Walsh Valdes.
  • Starting with this episode, Dave Wigforss is now credited as David Wigforss.
  • Diego, who is voiced by Jake T. Austin, does not appear in this episode or go to the parade with his anthropomorphic Rescue Pack.
  • This is the first episode of Season 5.
  • This is the 1st episode featuring a new voice actor for Dora, Boots, Backpack, and Tico. The characters were recast due to the age of the original child actors.
  • This is the 1st episode that Dora's voice is medium-pitched.
  • The introduction received minor changes. Since the star-catching portions have been dropped, all clips relating to Explorer Stars were removed. A rainbow and sun appear in place of the Explorer stars at the beginning, no Explorer stars follow behind Tico's car as that gets replaced with a clip from Dora Saves the Game, and clips from Dora Saves the Snow Princess and Benny's Big Race replace the ones from Stuck Truck and Louder! respectively. However, the clips from The Lost City and Meet Diego! are still featured. Finally, the Nick Jr. logo for this and the next seven episodes in order of production (later no logo) appears above the show's logo at the end.
  • This is the first episode the original cast does not sing the Dora the Explorer Theme Song due to their departure. This would be the first episode where the theme song vocals are changed. This would happen again later in the episode Swiper's Favorite Things.
  • The Blue Cursor will no longer click on Dora at the end of the episode from now on. However, it will still click on her before the final scene, the favorite parts.
  • Dora's new design this season is from Go, Diego, Go!, Dora's Dance to the Rescue, Dora's World Adventure, and Dora Saves the Mermaids.
  • For most of this season until the Season 6 episode Baby Winky Comes Home, Map's dance from "I'm the Map" will often be the one recycled from Dora's World Adventure!.
  • This is the first episode not to feature the original end credits with Character Find from now on, instead it shows four clouds with clips from previous episodes with an instrumental version of the main theme song introduced from Season 3 playing at the end, but the ending of the song is different. This will be used in every new episode, including movies, from now on.
    • This is the first episode since Grandma's House to use the Comic Sans MS font during the credits.
    • The new credits style is very similar to the one used in Go, Diego, Go!. It shows 4 clips of old episodes while the credits roll.
      • The scenes from the credits are from Seasons 1-4.
  • Beginning this episode:
    • At the introduction and at the end of the episode, there will be a fade in and fade out effect.
      • This was also seen on Go, Diego, Go!, which debuted three years prior.
    • Dora now asks the viewer what path the location is on, instead of if they see the location.
    • Following Map's segment, Dora no longer goes over the places as they pop up; instead, all three pictures pop up at once before asking "Where do we go first?".
    • After asking "Where do we go first/next?" and asking the viewer what their favorite part was, Dora frequently raises her arms.
    • Dora and Boots shout "Map!" (with the viewer) after saying "Louder!" before Map's segment begins, just like in Dora Saves the Mermaids.
      • This is similar to how Diego says, "Activaté" with the viewer after he says, "Louder!" to start Rescue Pack's segment in Go, Diego, Go!.
    • During We Did It!, flashbacks/reenactments of what Dora and Boots mention in the lyrics are shown. However, this also happened in Dora Saves the Mermaids.
    • During Favorite Parts:
      • The music has been re-orchestrated, going up in key from C to D before the episode ends.
      • Boots now says "Thanks for helping!" before Dora says "Gracias!".
      • The blue cursor no longer clicks on Dora at the very end.
    • The show is using the Nickelodeon Productions logos for all ages instead of the Nick Jr. Productions logos from now on.
  • This is the first appearance of Dora's friend Luis.
  • This marks Backpack's first segment for Season 5.
    • Beginning with this episode, items gotten from Backpack will no longer fall from the air for Dora to use, instead she or someone else will already be holding it.
  • Backpack did her segment once and that's it, but she sneezed when she sung her Backpack song. In other times, she sneezed the stuff out for the viewer to click on what's needed.
  • Swiper didn't want to swipe Dora and Boots' backpacks even though it looked like he did, he just wanted one for the parade (that looks like a cowboy). Luckily, Backpack had such backpack for him.
  • Backpack, Backpack is remixed with a slower marching band theme for the parade scene.
  • Going by TV airing order, this is the 100th spectacular special episode of the show.
  • Boots' backpack is shaped like a dinosaur.
    • It is possible that Boots likes dinosaurs since he has a stuffed cuddly dinosaur.
  • It's revealed that Backpack is allergic to confetti (which is why she's sneezing).
  • Backpack got an opportunity to sing her signature song at the parade with all of her friends, including Swiper.
  • Backpack got to tell her favorite part at the end of the episode.
  • There are a lot of reflex issues happening in this episode: Backpack sneezes, the Hiccup Bridge hiccups, and the Snoring Forest snores.
  • The part of the Travel Song where Dora and Boots laugh and spin around holding each other's hands is replaced by Backpack sneezing things out of her (due to confetti) and Dora and Boots catching them and putting them back inside her.
    • This is the only time Backpack sings it.
    • On the third "Where are we going?", the Fiesta Trio don't shout out the destination; instead Backpack takes their place.
    • The second time the Travel Song is sung, the part where they list the places are skipped.
  • Starting this episode, Dora does not always ask "You have to stand up" before a "stand up" activity, or says a variation of it.
  • The speaker at the Backpack Parade is the same kind of speaker (red and purple) from Choo-Choo! and Baseball Boots.
  • Backpack wears the same tiara again in Dora Rocks!, except the skirt.
  • This is the third time Backpack has something added to her during her segment (her costume for the Backpack Parade), following the star pocket being visible on her through all of Season 4 (but strangely not in Season 3) and snow on her top flap in Dora's Fairytale Adventure.
  • For some reason, Dora never bothers to check Backpack for whatever is making her sneeze. But unlike the episode Dora's Dance to the Rescue, Dora did checked Backpack for her segment to find out what was making her sneeze and it was the black pepper.
  • Luis' Backpack is almost similar to Diego's Rescue Pack.
    • Speaking of which, Diego and his Rescue Pack, along with Baby Jaguar were surprisingly not in the parade.
  • This episode premiered on Nick Jr. the same day as the Go, Diego, Go! episode Freddie the Fruit Bat Saves Halloween!.
  • The Fiesta Trio's animation during the I'm the Map song is recycled from Catch the Babies.
