Trivia[]
- The book "Dora Helps Swiper" is based on this episode.
- In airing order, this is the first (pre-Season 7) episode in which Dora is voiced by Fátima Ptacek, who would officially take over in the following season.
- However, in production order, Dora's Royal Rescue would be the first.
- Prior to this, her actual first time voicing her was in the Flash game The Thankful Old Troll, which was released in November of 2010.
- Additionally, Ptacek also voiced Balsa the Raft in this episode.
- Prior to this, her actual first time voicing her was in the Flash game The Thankful Old Troll, which was released in November of 2010.
- Ptacek would later voice Dora in the spin-off/sequel series Dora and Friends: Into the City!.
- However, in production order, Dora's Royal Rescue would be the first.
- This could be Dora's version of Diego's episode To Babysit a Bobo.
- Additionally, it could also be the show's version of Diego's episode The Bobo's Mother's Day, since both episodes have the antagonists (Swiper and the Bobos) trying to behave so that their older relatives (Grandma Fox and Mommy Bobo) don't get upset at them.
- This is the fourth episode where Swiper travels with Dora and Boots after Swiper the Explorer, Dora's Dance to the Rescue and Dora Saves the Three Little Pigs.
- This is also the fourth episode where Swiper has a favorite part at the end of the episode after the second episode mentioned above, Dora's World Adventure!, and the third episode mentioned above.
- This episode features Swiper's grandmother, who was previously mentioned in A Letter for Swiper and Swiper the Explorer and she finally makes an official appearance.
- This is the second instance where the Fiesta Trio lost their instruments, first being Dora's First Trip. In this case, they got found by the Tangled Forest's trees.
- This is the 137th episode of the show.
- Map's dancing is recycled from The Tale of the Unicorn King.
- Starting with the next season, when Dora is speaking, her voice is low while it is high when singing (except for the Travel Song in Little Map).
- Dora, Boots, and Swiper's pajamas at the end of the episode matches their favorite stuffed animals (teddy bear, dinosaur, and bunny, respectively). This is the only episode with pajamas like that.
- Additionally, starting with this episode, Dora no longer uses her two-piece pink pajamas from Seasons 3-4. She will switch to a nightgown in "Dora's Moonlight Adventure".
- The Travel Song is replaced by the new song "Swiper, You Promised!" for this episode.
- This is the next episode Swiper is on his good side without any swiping even though he was almost going to but he still tries harder to control himself. However, there are several Season 7 episodes that Swiper is on the good side which are A Ribbon For Pinto, Dora's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Dora & Diego's Amazing Animal Circus Adventure.
- This is the second appearance of Swiper’s stuffed funny bunny, it first appeared in Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure.
- This is also the second appearance of Boots' stuffed dinosaur, first being Boots' Cuddly Dinosaur.
- This is the first episode were Dora's hair has a more full, realistic effect when she is running or when there is wind blowing. This will continue for the rest of the series. This effect was probably to be implied prior to this episode, but it can be slightly seen in the episode, Dora's Ballet Adventure.
- This is the first Season 6 episode to feature Crocodile Lake as a location.
- Like with The Backpack Parade, the theme song features new vocals, however this version of the theme song is very rare, as it was only used in this episode and Dora's Knighthood Adventure. This version of the theme song is featured in the video game, Nickelodeon Dance.
- Coincidentally, Swiper lives on Blueberry Hill while his grandmother lives on Strawberry Hill, both live on hills with fruit (specifically berries) in the bushes. However, Swiper lives in a burrow on Blueberry Hill and his grandmother lives in a cottage house on Strawberry Hill.
- This episode could serve as a sequel to both Boots' Cuddly Dinosaur and Louder! from Season 3 due to Dora and Boots having a sleepover at Dora's House.
Running Gag[]
- Swiper made a promise in the beginning not to swipe anything, yet he always forgets when he sees something to swipe, so the phrase "Swiper, you promised!" is used to help Swiper remember he promised not to swipe.
Older Episode references[]
- The term "Funny Bunny" was first used in Egg Hunt, which is what Dora describes Swiper in an Easter Bunny costume.
