Dora's star pocket is a removable star shaped pocket that was attached to Backpack during much of seasons 3 and 4. The star pocket is home of all the Explorer Stars. In airing order, it was first used in The Lost City and last appears in Swiper the Explorer. Its first appearance in production order was Dora Had a Little Lamb, whereas its final produced appearance was Dora's Dance to the Rescue. Its first chronological appearance is Star Catcher.

Appearance[]

It is a purple star-shaped pocket. It lights up in rainbow swirls whenever it opens or detects a star around.

Trivia[]

  • The star pocket's glow is different in two episodes:
  • Throughout Season 3, the pocket constantly changes its position on Backpack depending on what side Dora puts the stars in or when the Explorer Star is called. In Season 4, it is always seen on the left side of Backpack.
  • The Star pocket is similar to Pokéballs from Pokémon, both can store stuff in them.
  • Throughout Season 3, the pocket appears and disappears throughout the episode; in Season 4, it is visible constantly.
  • In airing order, Woo-Hoo was the first Explorer Star to go into the star pocket, while Spy Star was the last.
    • In production order, Glowy was the first Explorer Star to go into the star pocket, while Slipperoni was the last.
  • Usually, the star pocket holds an amount of 4, 6, or 7 stars in each episode.
  • Despite the pocket being visible throughout Season 4 in its entirety, the only episodes from said season that utilize it were The Shy Rainbow, Dora's Got a Puppy, and Super Spies 2: The Swiping Machine.
  • It is unknown what happened to the Star Pocket after Season 4 ended and/or if Dora still owns it. If she still owns the star pocket, it is possible that she keeps it in her room in her house.
  • The Lost City is the only Season 2 episode to feature the Star Pocket. That is because it was produced as a Season 3 episode but aired during Season 2.
  • Dora's Pirate Adventure is the only double-length episode where the star pocket was used.
  • Dora's Fairytale Adventure and Star Mountain are the only star-related episodes where the stars do not get put in the star pocket, they just fly away. However the pocket is still visible.
  • In Go, Diego, Go!, Backpack's star pocket is visible on her segment in Chito and Rita the Spectacled Bears. However, it doesn't appear in the entire duration of that episode.
  • The star pocket is most likely removed and the stars are also most likely retired in Dora's World Adventure!, Dora Saves the Mermaids, and Season 5 onwards because star catching could cause time constraints.
  • The actual first appearance of the Star Pocket was Star Catcher.
