Sharks appeared in the episode "Star Catcher" where they lived in the Stormy Water. With help from Saltador Star, Dora, Boots, and the Explorer Stars, had to jump over them so they wouldn't get hurt, they appear again in Dora and Diego to the Rescue hunting for food and go after the trapped whale, after Diego frees the whale, the kids and ocean mammal scare the sharks off by doing a whale call, their final appearance on Dora would be in Pirate Treasure Hunt where after Little Piggy falls in the water and two of them come after her but luckily Mei saves the day with her dragon boat scaring the sharks away once again. The sharks also appeared in one episode of Go Diego Go, in Diego Saves Baby Humpback Whale after Alicia warns Diego and Tuga that they were being chased and had to swim faster.
Although sharks cannot talk in real life, the sharks in Dora and Diego to the Rescue talk in Pokémon, Explorer Star, Teletubby, Tiddlytubby, and Yoshi speak, meaning that they only say the name of their species over and over again ("Sharks, sharks, sharks"). In Star Catcher & Pirate Treasure Hunt, they remain silent. But in Diego Saves Baby Humpback Whale, they make a teeth clicking sound with a bit of a "Ch" to go with it.
