Riding the Roller Coaster Rocks is the 11th episode of Dora the Explorer from Season 8.

In production order, it's the 6th episode of Season 8.

Today, Dora and Boots travel through the rainforest to Adventure Forest, a special amusement park where Abuela used to go when she was younger, so she can ride her favorite ride, the Roller Coaster Rocks, once more. But before they can enjoy the park, the rides have all shut down because no one visited the park for a very long while! Can Dora, Boots, and Abuela reopen all the rides to open the park again and ride them, especially Abuela's favorite?

Places/Rides in this episode[]

  1. River Ride
  2. Swinging Tree
  3. Roller Coaster Rocks

  • Bush-Door to the Adventure Forest Amusement Park
  • Funny Jungle Chair Ride
  • Bush-Go-Round
  • Zip Line
  • Dora's House (Favorite Parts scene only)

  • This is the 1st episode to premiere in 2014.
  • This is the 168th episode of the show.
  • Benny, Tico, Isa, Mami and Papi do not appear in this episode.
  • This is the third episode where Abuela is seen as a young girl and talks about her childhood, first being The Chocolate Tree and second being Star Catcher.
  • The Travel Song's role is taken by the new song "Buenos Dias" where Dora, Boots and Abuela reopen the rides by saying, "¡Buenos dias!" (hence the song's title).
  • This is the first and only episode Abuela stops Swiper with Dora and Boots.
  • This is Abuela's last appearance in the series.
  • This episode premiered on Nick Jr. the day after the show's 15th anniversary, which is a coincidence.
  • In the YouTube version, the intro is not included. When the episode ends, it jump cuts to the warp speed credits and cloud scenes without the fade-out, using the beginning of the credit music, which also continues to play during the warp speed Nickelodeon logo.
  • Dora, Boots and Abuela introduce themselves almost the same way they did in Star Catcher and Happy Birthday, Super Babies! with only one difference made for this episode (explaining that they are exploring with Abuela). Here is the script (words changed are in bold):
    • Dora: ¡Hola, soy Dora!
    • Boots: And I'm Boots!
    • Dora: We're here exploring con mi abuela!
    • Abuela: ¡Hola!
  • This marks the fifth time in the franchise where "Buenos dias!" was said to wake someone up. In this case, Dora, Boots, and Abuela said it to wake up and reopen the rides in Adventure Forest.
    • In Click! and Egg Hunt, Dora and Boots said it to wake up the Sleepy Sloth.
    • In First Day of School, Dora, Boots and Tico said it to wake up the big and medium turtles, since the small turtle was woken up by saying "Good morning!".
    • In A Booboo on the Pygmy Marmoset in Diego's show, he and Alicia said it to wake up the healing tree.
