Well, Boots does! "I LOVE the circus!" he said.

"Watch

ME!"

He sings a circus tune:

"Doot, doot,

do-doot,

do!"

Dora cracks up.
"(laughing)

BOOTS!"

"YOU'RE so

FUNNY!"

("Entry of the Gladiators" plays in the distance)

"Listen,

that sounds like the

circus train!"

"WHERE,

WHERE,

WHERE,

WHERE?!"

Help them look for it.

"Can you find the circus train?"

Right here!

"Yeah, there’s the circus train!"

Do you see the elephants? (There's a monkey juggling balls)

(In that yellow car.)

Yeah, there they are!

Do you see the band playing their instruments? (There are also two clowns riding the train)

(On that blue flatbed.)

Yeah, there's the circus band!

"I wanna see a lion!" said Boots.

[Note Dora's face design has changed.]

"I WANNA SEE A LION!"

"Do you see a lion?" (Here comes one now!)

(And he's carrying a bag.)

Tell them where it is.

"Where?!"

(Behind you.)

"RIGHT BEHIND

US!?!"

(Eyup!)

Dora and Boots scream.
"AAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!"

(Before they try to run away…)
"Oh, SORRY!" said the lion.

"I didn't mean to scare you!"

(Ooh, he must be a friendly lion!)

"My name is León."

"I travel here from FAR, far away!"

"Some day, I hope to join the circus."

"I wanna be a

CIRCUS lion!"

"A CIRCUS LION!" they both said all impressed.

"That's GREAT!"

[Now Dora's face design changes back to how it was.]
"I'm Dora!" she said as she handshakes him.

Boots does the same. "And I'm Boots!"

"Say, can you do any circus tricks?"

"Oh, YES! I can!"

"We wanna see a circus trick!"

"How about you?" he asks.

"Would YOU like to see a circus trick?"

Would you? Tell him your thoughts!

"GREAT!"

"But I'm gonna need YOUR help!"

"I call this trick:

'How many hot dogs

can a lion juggle?'"

He throws them up in the air.

León says, "Count them with me!"

One,

two,

three,

four,

five,

six,

seven,

eight,

nine,

TEN!
"TEN hot dogs!" said León. (That's a lot!)

[Dora's face design changes again!]
"WHOOO

OOOOOOO

OOOOA!!!"

"Will YOU help me juggle?"

Will you? He can't do it himself.

"Great!"

"Put your hands out in front of you, and move them all around, and say:

'Juggle, juggle,

juggle, juggle!'"

"Juggle, juggle, juggle, JUGGLE!" they all said.

"Good juggling!

¡Muy bien!"

Now he's going to eat them all! The hot dogs go right into his mouth!

(chewing)

"Ah…"

"He DID it!"

"WOW! ¡QUE BIEN!"

"WHAT a TRICK!

Way to go, León!"

(music starts)

"Thank you, THANK YOU!

¡GRACIAS, GRACIAS!"

"OH, León!" Dora said.

"You HAVE to join the circus!"

"You really think I should be a circus lion?!"

"OH BOY,

OH BOY!"

"We have to find the circus train

so we can get to

the circus."

"Do YOU see the circus train?"

Right there.

"Yeah, there it is!" said Boots.

"It's heading right for that circus tent!"

"Oh! The circus tent is far, far away!"

"Don't worry, León, we'll help you get to the circus!"

"Will YOU help León get to the circus?"

Will you? León would appreciate it.

Great!

(But they don't know how to get there.)
"Who do we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?"

Take a guess!
(You too, Boots!)

"Map!"

"The Map!"

Will YOU check the Map to find out how to get to the circus?

You have to say, "Map"!

(Map, where are you?!)

There he is! Now, LOUD and PROUD so he'll spring out of Backpack!

He can't hear you! "LOUDER!!" said Boots and León.

(MAP!)

Great! (SPRIIIIING!) Up he goes!
Let's see what the Map says…

Map's ready for work! "Step right up boys and girls!" he says. "And watch me, the Amazing Map! I'll help you get to the circus!"

First, you go through the Swinging Forest.

Then, you cross Tightrope Bridge!

And that’s how you'll get to the circus, so León can become a circus lion!

So you tell Dora: Forest, Bridge, Circus!

Hello again, Dora!

"How do we get to the circus?"
(Note that going by airing order, this is the last time she asks a question like this before the Picture Pop-Ups. Last one in production order would be Click!. Additionally, it's the last time she says the places after all the squares pop up, which in production order, it would be Dora, La Música.)

Forest, Bridge, Circus! First we go through the Swinging Forest;

Then we cross Tightrope Bridge;

And that’s how we'll get to the Circus, so León can become a circus lion!
(Also in airing order, this is the final time she repeats Map's instructions before the permanent use of "Where do we go first?". In production order, that would be Click!, once again.)

"So first we have to find the Swinging Forest."

"Do you see the Swinging Forest?"

Right here!

"Yeah, there it is!"

"Come on,

vamonos!"

"LET'S GO TO THE CIRCUS!"

"So León can become

A CIRCUS LION!"

(laughing)
First Dora spins with Boots.

Then she spins with León.

Then she spins with Boots again.

CIRCUS!!!

(Wow! That was REALLY fun!)

"Boy, that Swinging Forest is FAR away!" said Boots.

"I have something that can help us

get to the Swinging Forest!"

(What is it, León?)

He looks in his bag.

Here it is! "TAH-DAAAH!!!" he said.

"It's a special circus bike

called a unicycle!"

"It has only

one wheel…

…but, I CAN RIDE IT!"

He spins around in the unicycle and cheers.

"LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!"

He picks up Dora. "WHOA!"

(laughing)

Then he picks up Boots.

"AHHHH!!!" Boots yelled.

(both laughing)

(music starts)
(Encore, anyone?)

(song ends)

"OH, León, you HAVE TO join the circus!"

"You're the GREATEST circus lion!"

"GO, LEÓN,

GO!!!" Boots cheered,

Léon is struggling.

(grunting)

"I need your help!" he says.

"Will YOU help me pedal?"

Will you help them go faster?

"GREAT!"

"Put your feet in the air…

put them in the air and

pedal, pedal,

pedal, pedal!"

"WOW!" said Dora.

"¡QUE DIVERTIDO!"

(both exclaiming)

"Thanks for pedaling!" said León.

"We made it to the Swinging Forest."

"And look!" said Boots.

"SWINGS!"

"Ooh,

I know a circus trick that will help us get through

the Swinging Forest."

"Hang on tight!"

"WHOA!"

(both laughing)

"I need YOUR help! Will you tell me to jump when the next swing is very close to me?"

Will you?

"Great!"

"Should I jump, now?"

(Not yet.)

"No, León! The swing is too far away!"

"Should I jump, now?"

(NOW it's okay.)

"YES!"

"WHOA!"
"WHEEEEE!!!"

"Now I need to jump the next swing!"

"Should I jump, now?"

(Not yet.)

"Nope! It's FAR AWAY!"

"Should I jump, NOW?"

"YES!"

"WHEEEEEEEEE!!!"

They made it!

"Thanks for helping me!"

They all hug.

Here come the Fiesta Trio in a swinging!

"Where do we go next, Dora?"

We went through the Swinging Forest;

So next comes the…?

Bridge, right! Tightrope Bridge?

Do you see Tightrope Bridge?

Right there.

"Yeah, there it is!"

"Come on,

vámonos!"

"Let's go to the circus!"

"So León can become

a CIRCUS LION!"

Along the way, León can do some more tricks!

Oh, he's gonna do one now!

Watch this! He's hula-hooping and twirling balls with his fingers and nose!

"WOW!" Dora said. "¡EXCELENTE!"

"YAY!" added Boots. "WHAT a TRICK!"

(rustling)

"Uh-oh! That sounds like Swiper the Fox!"

"Swiper! That sneaky fox is always trying swipe our stuff!"

"He'll try to swipe León's circus toys!"

"If you see Swiper the Fox,

yell 'SWIPER!'" (There he is, now!)

He's swinging on a vine using his feet!

"You see Swiper?"

He gets closer…

And closer…

And he grabs them!

"OH, NO!" cried Boots.

They must be too late!

"You'll NEVER find them NOW!" Swiper said, teasing them. (Oh, we'll see about THAT!)

(snickers): "HA-HA-HAAAA!!!"

(Well played, fox! Game on!)

Oh, this is AWFUL!

"León can't be in the circus without his circus toys!"
(Swiper, you're a NUTCASE!)

Maybe you can help them find them.

"Will YOU help us find León's circus toys?"

Will you? Like Boots said, León can't be in the circus without them.

"Great!"

[This must be where Swiper hid them.]
"We’ve got to find León's circus toys! First let's find León's hula hoop."

"Is this his hula hoop?"

(Snake hissing)
"Oops!" said Dora. "That's a snake!"

Can you find León's hula hoop?

(It's right there.)

"You FOUND it!"

"Now we have to find three juggling balls. Can you find all three of León's juggling balls?"
"Count with me!"

three!

"Three juggling balls! Great! You found all of León's toys!"

Smart looking! And here they come!

Catch them, León!

"Thanks for helping!" said León.

"Come on,

we've gotta go over

Tightrope

Bridge!" (So they can get to the circus.)

Here it is!

"WHOA!

HOW are we going to get over THAT?!"

León has an idea. (Another circus trick?)

"I know a circus trick we can do.

It's called the Tightrope Walk.

Like THIS!"

Watch León carefully...

"You hold your arms out to the sides,

then you put

one foot

in front of

the other..."

"And

that's how

you do

the Tightrope

Walk!"

He made it!

(clapping)

"THANK YOU!

¡Gracias!"

Who's next?

"Now it's my turn!" Boots says.

Go ahead, Boots!

"I put my arms

out to the sides, and put

the other..."

"WHOA!"

"WHOA-HO-HO!"

"I'm

Walk!"

"WOW!" cheered León.

"Good trick!"

"I think YOU could be a

CIRCUS monkey!"

"WAY TO GO, BOOTS!" cheered Dora.

"Now, it's

OUR turn!" (Note that she's back to her "Season 2, Version 3" look.)

"I need YOUR help to do the Tightrope Walk."

(Now her design changes back to "Season 2, Version 5".)

"You have to stand up

to do the Tightrope Walk!"

"Stand up, please!"

"UP,

UP,

UP!"

Are you standing up?

"Now, put your arms out

to the sides,

and...

Walk,

and

walk,

and

walk,

and

WALK!

"YAAAAY!" cheered Boots as he slaps Dora a high-five.

"You made it over Tightrope Bridge!"

"¡EXCELENTE!" cheered León.

Looks like the Fiesta Trio is riding a unicycle, too!

Pedal, pedal, pedal!

Off they go!

"Where do we go next?"

We went through the Swinging Forest;

And over Tightrope Bridge;

So next comes the…?!
(Note that in airing order, this is the last time until Season 6 where she says this kind of phrase. Until then, she would ask "Where do we go next?")

CIRCUS!! Right!
(And that concludes the original Picture Pop-Up format, in airing order.)

León's getting excited. "Oh, yeah! THERE IT IS!

THERE IT IS!"

"Come on, vámonos!"

"Let's go to the circus!"

"So León can become a

León sings his song again.

(song ends)

See the train up ahead?

They gotta make it there before it starts!

"Hey, look!" said Boots. "It's Isa!"

She's skating!

"Hi, Dora!

Hi, Boots!"

"This is our friend, León!"

"He wants to be in the circus," Boots explains.

"Well, you better hurry!" said Isa.

'cause the show's almost

starting!"

She skates away. (She must be going to the circus, too!)

(all gasping)

"We have to get to the circus really,

REALLY FAST!"

"I have something in my Backpack that can help us get there fast!"
(Dora changes to her "Season 2, Version 3" again.)

You have to say, "Backpack!"

Boots and León both say, "Say, 'Backpack!' Say, 'Backpack!'"

"¡RAPIDO!" says Backpack. "Dora needs something that will help them get to the circus really, really fast! What will help them get there fast?"

What do you think?

(Those roller skates, like Isa was using!)

"The skates, right! Now where are the helmets?"

They need them so they can be safe. Where are they?

"Right, there they are! Smart looking! ¡Muy bien!"

Here they come!
(Now Dora's design once again switches to the "Version 5".)

"We've gotta skate fast so we can get to the circus."

"HERE WE GO!" said León.

Those elephants lift their trunks.

"Thank you!" said Boots and León.

"¡Gracias!" said León and Dora.
