Characters[]

Summary[]

Baby Jaguar wants to impress his mommy by making it to the top of Jaguar Mountain all by himself. But he has to prove it by climbing, reaching and jumping. Diego and Mama Jaguar follow Baby Jaguar as he climbs up Jaguar Mountain.

Plot[]

The episode begins with Diego and Baby Jaguar looking at a photo album. They find a picture of Baby Jaguar as a newborn, them with Dora and her friends sailing on a pirate ship in the Pirate Adventure, Baby Jaguar and Mama Jaguar running, Mama Jaguar giving Baby Jaguar a piggyback ride down the hill, swimming together, and a special picture of Mama Jaguar on top of Jaguar Mountain. Baby Jaguar is convinced to try it, so he sets off to Jaguar Mountain. Diego calls out to Mama Jaguar by saying "Mreow mreow." Mama Jaguar came and Diego told her that Baby Jaguar has a surprise for her. Mama Jaguar loves surprises. Diego hears Baby Jaguar saying "Mreow mreow" and he's so far ahead. Diego uses Click to find Baby Jaguar. Diego tells the viewer to say "Click!" Click zooms through the forest and listens for Baby Jaguar's mreow mreow. There's an animal behind a bush saying, "Quack quack" but that's not Baby Jaguar, that's a duck. There's an animal behind a lily pad saying, "Ribbit ribbit" but that's not Baby Jaguar, that's a frog. There's an animal behind some trees saying, "Squawk squawk" but that's not Baby Jaguar, that's a scarlet macaw. There's an animal behind a rock saying, "Mreow mreow" Click has found Baby Jaguar and took a picture of him. The viewer tells Diego that Click found Baby Jaguar. Diego needs to find out where Baby Jaguar is.

Click zooms out and Baby Jaguar is trying to climb to the top of Jaguar Mountain. Diego and Mama Jaguar want to see Baby Jaguar climb to the top of the mountain. Diego and Mama Jaguar set off to Jaguar Mountain. The windy wind gets really strong, and unfortunately it blows Rescue Pack away. Diego and Mama Jaguar dodge the falling trees and the wind stopped. Diego hears Rescue Pack calling for help and he finds him, his strap is stuck under a tree. Diego tries to push the tree but it's too heavy. Someone is moving the tree that is really strong. It's Mama Jaguar! Jaguars are one of the strongest animals in the rainforest. Diego tells the viewer to help push the tree off of Rescue Pack. Diego and Mama Jaguar put their hands out in front of them and push the tree. Rescue Pack is free and tells Mama Jaguar thanks for pushing the tree off him. Diego puts Rescue Pack back on him and he follows Mama Jaguar but he loses sight of her. Jaguars are orange with black spots. Diego sees an animal that's orange with black spots but it's not Mama Jaguar, it's a butterfly. Then, he sees more things that are orange and black but it's bunch of flowers. Then, he sees another animal that is orange with black stripes behind the leaves on a branch but it's a bird. Then he finally found Mama Jaguar behind a bush. Mama Jaguar jumps out of the bush. Then, Diego gets a call from Alicia on his video watch. Alicia tells him and Mama Jaguar that Baby Jaguar is moving up Jaguar Mountain but rocks are sliding down on him.

Diego and Mama Jaguar got to help him. Baby Jaguar's got to jump over the rocks. Diego tells the viewer to help Baby Jaguar by singing the Spanish word, "Salta." Baby Jaguar is jumping over the rocks but more rocks are falling. Diego and the viewer are singing, "Salta" in a higher tone. Baby Jaguar jumped over all of the rocks. Alicia tells them good luck at getting to Jaguar Mountain. Diego and Mama Jaguar jumped over a tree and over some rocks. When they got to the bridge, somehow it was broken, and then it started getting bouncy. Diego and Mama Jaguar heard the Bobo Brothers. Those monkeys are always causing trouble. The Bobo Brothers are making the bridge all bouncy. Diego tells the viewer to stop the Bobos by saying, "Freeze, Bobos!" The Bobos have stopped swinging and landed on a branch. Diego and Mama Jaguar have got to get over the bridge but it's so far. Mama Jaguar tells Diego to hop on her back to jump across. Diego tells the viewer to sing the Spanish word, "Salta" to jump across. Then, Diego gets another call from Alicia on his video watch. Alicia tells him that Baby Jaguar's trying to get up the mountain, but a flock of turkey vultures won't get out of his way. Mama Jaguar tells Diego that turkey vultures are afraid of a jaguar's growl. If Diego and Mama Jaguar both growl with Baby Jaguar, then the turkey vultures will fly away. Diego tells the viewer to help Baby Jaguar growl so the turkey vultures will fly away.

Baby Jaguar growls at the turkey vultures and they flew away and he's starts to climb again. Diego and Mama Jaguar see three mountains shaped like animals. Diego tells the viewer to find Jaguar Mountain. Diego and Mama Jaguar made it to Jaguar Mountain. Then, Mama Jaguar sees Baby Jaguar behind a rock. Baby Jaguar has a surprise for her and he's going to get to the top just like a big jaguar. Diego tells the viewer to help Baby Jaguar climb to the top. Baby Jaguar tells the viewer to put their hands in the air and climb, climb, climb, climb, climb. Then, he tells the viewer again to put their hands in the air and reach, reach, reach, reach. Baby Jaguar is almost at the top. The jaguar head is really high so Baby Jaguar tells the viewer to jaguar jump with him. Baby Jaguar puts his hands in the air and jump, jump, jump and he's at the top. Diego and Mama Jaguar climbed to the top of Jaguar Mountain too. Diego I proud of Baby Jaguar too and gives him a big hug. He's an amazing climber and the viewer is too. Baby Jaguar sings about climbing to the top of Jaguar Mountain. Diego tells the viewer to say, "Click" to take a picture of Baby Jaguar on the to of Jaguar Mountain. Diego and the viewer helped Baby Jaguar climb to the top of Jaguar Mountain and with that, this episode ends.

Animal Sound of the Jaguar[]

Mreow-Mreow!

Songs[]

Facts about jaguars learned[]

  • Jaguars' spots are black, not pink.
  • Jaguars make growling sounds, not clucking sounds like chickens.
  • Jaguars are good at jumping and climbing. They cannot tap dance like most gentlemen, and they cannot fly due to gravity and the lack of wings.

Animal Puzzles with Questions[]

  1. Does a jaguar have black spots or pink spots?
  2. Does a jaguar growl or cluck?
  3. Is a jaguar a good tap dancer or a good jumper?
  4. Can a jaguar fly or climb?

Animals found by Click[]

Note: Animal in bold is the correct one.

  • Duck
  • Red-eyed tree frog
  • Scarlet macaw
  • Baby Jaguar

Releases[]

This episode can be found on the DVD title "Underwater Mystery".

Trivia[]

  • This is the first episode where characters from the main show appear, as well as the only episode where an Explorer Star appears.
    • Speaking of which, if one counts the picture with Dora's Pirate Adventure in it, this would be the first episode where Dora and Boots appear (they first appear "in person" in Linda the Llama Saves Carnival) and the only appearance of Benny, Isa, and Tico (who never appear "in person") in the series.
  • This episode shows Click in a new version.
  • This is the first episode that Diego doesn't use Rescue Pack. He is blown away.
  • This is the first episode Diego sings the "Una Adventura" song.
  • During the animal end song Diego and Alicia don't say "Excelente", they instead say "Yay!".
  • This is the first episode in which Mama Jaguar speaks.
  • This episode aired the same day as the series premiere of Noggin's Jack's Big Music Show.
  • This episode could be Diego's version of "To the Monkey Bars".
    • Diego and Baby Jaguar look at a photo album, just like Dora and Boots did, Baby Jaguar is confident to repeat what the photo looks like (Jaguar on Jaguar Mountain) to fulfill his destiny and to try and conquer his fears, just like Dora being confident to try and conquer the monkey bars.
  • This marks the first time where sounds were heard in a Let's Review question, specifically the second question (Does a jaguar growl or cluck?). The "growl" choice plays Baby Jaguar's growling while the "cluck" choice plays a chicken's clucking.
  • A clip from this episode appears in the online game, "Diego's Field Journal."

Goofs/Errors[]

  • When the wind blows Rescue Pack away from Diego, his strap is broken, but when he gets stuck under the tree and Diego and Mama Jaguar help him, his strap is not broken. And when the tree almost fell on Diego and when he jumped over it, he had Rescue Pack on his back. However, it would be possible that they need sticky tape to fix Rescue Pack's strap like his cousin Dora did to fix Backpack's strap in Sticky Tape.
  • It is unknown how a Dora's Pirate Adventure photo appeared if Glowy appears in the photo, but not the actual episode (Hero Star was in the episode instead), Diego's outfit is different compared to the actual episode, and no one was seen actually taking the picture onscreen.
  • Baby Jaguar does not appear in the "Let's Review!" segment again until Whistling Willie Finds a Friend.
  • No one said "Hey! We've almost finished the puzzle!"
