[Today we start with Dora in her bedroom.]
She puts on her Backpack.
Just then, Boots comes jumping. "DORA!" he shouted.
"That sounded like my friend,
"Dora, I need your help!"
"It's my mommy's birthday today."
"I wanna give her a gift,
"Well, WHAT does your mommy LIKE?"
"My mommy really likes pictures!" explained Boots.
Speaking of which… "Do YOU like pictures?" asked Dora.
Now is the time to tell her.
"I have pictures of ALL my friends and family!"
"I love it when I get pictures
of my friends and family!"
Dora has the camera so she can take a picture of Boots to give to his mommy.
that's a GREAT idea, Dora!"
"I'll give my mommy a picture of
HEY! What happened to his hair?!
Well, at least for now it's better!
When Dora takes the picture,
Boots' hair gets messy again!
Now she has the messy hair picture.
"Your hair's sticking out!"
Uh-oh! What's wrong with Boots' hair? It's WAY TOO long!
Silly, right?
(Boots laughs)
Can we take another picture, Dora?"
"WHAT am I going to do, Dora?!"
I know who can help!" (Who?)
he ALWAYS goes to see El Peluquero!"
Boots doesn't understand what she's trying to say.
"El Peluquero?!" he asked. (Barber in Spanish, Boots.)
Map knows the way! To get to the Barbershop, first we have to go over the Troll Bridge, then through the Hairy Trees, and that's how we'll get to the Barbershop.
Where do we go first?
The Bridge, right! The Troll Bridge!
(NOTE: This is a phone camera shot.)
Is Troll Bridge on the left or right path?
There's the Troll Bridge!
WHOA! Look how LONG Mr. Troll's beard is!
(Song starts)
Be careful, Mr. Troll!
He trips on his beard while dancing. "WHOOA!"
At least the Troll is still okay.
(song ends)
"Solve my riddle!" He said.
Here's the riddle: "My pretty poodles love to travel in pairs."
The Grumpy Old Troll asks: "Can YOU match the poodles by the SAME hair?"
Boots thinks it's a good one! "OOH!" he says.
"We have to match these poodles
Can you match all the poodles? Let's do it!
"Help us match the poodles!" Dora said.
What shape is this poodle's hair?
Right! It's shaped like a square!
What shape is this poodle's hair?
Right! It's shaped like a triangle!
"Look at THIS poodle's hair!"
Boots asks her, "What shape is
THAT Dora?" (You probably know what it is, too!)
"That shape has five sides,
"And these last two poodles match each other, Dora!" said Boots.
She asks, "What shapes are THEY?"
Right! They're shaped like circles! Great matching!
"YOU MATCHED MY POODLES!" cheered the Troll.
"WHOA!!!!!" the Grumpy Old Troll hollered by his long beard.
I REALLY need a hair cut!"
Dora suggests Mr. Troll to see El Peluquero.
We crossed the Troll Bridge, check! So next are the…?
Trees, right! The Hairy Trees!
Are the Hairy Trees on the left or the right path?
We crossed the Troll Bridge, check! And went through the Hairy Trees, check! So next is the…?
Barbershop, sí!
Is the barbershop on
la izquierda o la derecha? (Note: If you look closely, the
school can be seen on the left path, or
la izquierda.)
Here it is! El Peluquero's barber shop!
"We've got to let El Peluquero know
"Peluquero"? (That's Spanish for barber.)
HEY! WE know someone who loves fruit (especially bananas)!
TOO!" (Of course, Boots!)
"And healthy!" (Right, Mr. Troll!)
"Will you check my Backpack for some fruit?"
You have to say, "Backpack!"
"El Peluquero's favorite desert
Is this fruit?
(It's food, like everything else in here, but NOT fruit.)
Everything else goes back in.
(HEY! Food actually IS delicioso!)
Here's the fruit for El Peluquero!
"OOH! Yum, ¡una manzana!"
"¡GRACIAS! I LOVE apples!"
while El Peluquero puts a barber cape on him, along with the others.
"When I cut hair, I like to sing", explained El Peluquero.
In English we say, "Cut the hair". In Spanish we say "Corta el pelo".
Can you say, "Corta el pelo"?
Try it!
El Peluquero is impressed! "Ah,
Time for a picture of Boots' new and improved hair!
That picture looks perfect!
[Back at Dora's house…] Time to discuss our favorite parts, shall we?
"We had such a GREAT adventure today!" Dora said.
She asks, "What was your favorite part of the trip?"
You can tell them! What part did you like the best?
As always, "I liked that, too!" she said.
Let's hear what THEIR favorite parts were!
Boots liked when they had to
when they brushed the birds
