[The 1st episode of the new 3rd season starts in general after Season 2 with Dora and Boots relaxing while sitting with Abuela on the couch at her house.] Let's say hello to them!
"And this is mi Abuela!" (they hug her)
Abuela has a special present for Dora and asks if she wants to see it.
"My grandmother gave this to me…
when I was YOUR age, Dora!" Can YOU guess what it might be?
"It is…a star pocket! It is for catching stars!" (Well, THIS sounds interesting!)
Abuela tells her a story about her childhood. "When I was a girl,
I used to wear the star pocket,
and special stars would come!
"You may even find explorer stars!"
Go, (Young) Abuela! Catch those stars!
"But it is up for you to catch them!"
She did! Yay, (Young) Abuela! So she got: a yellow and purple star, and also Hero Star!
It's official! "Now, you're ready to become…
catcher!" (Just like Abuela!)
Dora is excited. "A star catcher!" she exclaims.
Boots is too! "I wanna be a star catcher!"
"Do YOU want to be a star catcher?"
Do you want to join them? Tell her your thoughts!
"Backpack, I need YOU to wear the star pocket. Okay, Mochila?"
"¡Si, claro! ¡Gracias, Dora, gracias!" ("Yes, of course! Thank you, Dora, thank you!")
She puts the star pocket on Backpack.
Map is excited, too! "WOW! Cool star pocket!"
"Good luck!" said Abuela.
Inconsistencies: They were in Abuela's house earlier, but they exited out of Dora's house instead. Also, the star pocket is now on the opposite side of Backpack.
Look, the star pocket's lighting up!
Dora and Boots notice. That can mean one thing...
"Something tells me there are
"Will you help us find stars?"
(Where could it be?) "WOO-HOO!" it said.
Dora thinks she just heard a star.
It keeps going past them.
Where's the star? (There he is!)
(laughing) [Note the star pocket disappeared.]
"Let's be star catchers!"
"Reach up to catch the star! Reach up!"
YAY! She caught the star!
"WOO-HOO!" he said, once again.
She tickles him (it makes him laugh)
What else makes him happy?
Playing peekaboo, of course!
That gives Dora an idea! "Come on! Let's play
"Put your hands over your eyes…"
"Now, take your hands away and say, 'WOO-HOO!'"
He loves playing peekaboo with you!
"Star pocket! STAR POCKET!"
the star pocket!" Boots said.
"THE STAR POCKET, YIPPEEE!"
Boots wonders what's inside the star pocket.
the star pocket!" (He really does! The interior sure feels like paradise.)
But then, there was trouble...
They sense an archenemy of theirs, who doesn't know everything about the Explorer Stars or the Star Catching missions yet.
Dora is suspicious. "Hmm..."
"...someone's sneaking up on us."
"WHO'S sneaking up on us?!"
(Too late, he swiped it!)
He's not throwing the star pocket?! What is he going to do instead? Let's find out!
Oh, come on! He attached it to a balloon using sticky tape! That's much worse than throwing it!
"You'll NEVER find your star pocket NOW!"
(Perhaps he's right. Dora and Boots won't recover it, but there's someone else to keep it as a delivery while forming an unholy alliance with him.)
(She jumps, but unfortunately missed.)
(Maybe to you, Swiper, but we can still follow that star pocket until that balloon runs out of helium! Nothing has infinite fuel, you know!)
"Don't worry! We're coming for you, Woo-Hoo! We're coming!"
"We're gonna get him back!"
"But where are we going to go to find Woo-Hoo?!", said Boots.
(Then let's stop and think!)
when we don't know which way to go?"
(Let's check the Map to find out where Woo-Hoo is going with the Star Pocket!)
You have to say, "Map!"
There he is! Say his name and he'll spring out of Backpack!
"I think you have to say it again."
(Say it louder, please!)
All right! Up he goes! (SPRIIIIING!) Let's see what he has to say!
Map says that the star pocket and Who-Hoo are flying all the way to the Cloud Castle!
Luckily, Map knows the way! Listen carefully...
To get to the Cloud Castle, first we have to sail across the Stormy Water.
Then go over Dragon Mountain.
And that's how we'll get to the Cloud Castle to rescue Woo-Hoo!
Ooh! You’re star catchers now! You have to try and catch stars along the way!
The Stars can help you save Woo-Hoo! So remember: Water, Mountain, Cloud Castle!
(Hey, the picture pop-up sequence has been skipped! So they are going to do something new to find the first destination.)
"So first we have to find the Stormy Water."
"Let's make a telescope with our hands." (Like how Diego can use his spotting scope!)
If you see the Stormy Water, say, "water!"
There are some dark storm clouds,
There it is! "STORMY WATER!
Let’s go get the star pocket…
Maybe they'll find more stars…
And Map was right! They found more stars that could help them save Woo-Hoo (if they can catch them)!
"CATCH ME! CATCH ME!" said one of them.
"Let's be star catchers!"
"Reach up and catch the stars!"
"Look! We caught the stars!"
"And we caught Explorer Stars!" Let's learn what they are!
Saltador, the jumping star!
Noisy Star, she's REALLY loud!
(HONK! HONK!)
(Well, THAT POWER will be perfect if she will warn everyone of Swiper's arrival!)
Glowy, the bright light star!
And Switchy, the Explorer Star that can change his shape!
Let’s go get the star pocket…
"Here we come!" cheered one of the stars.
Look! It's getting dark and cloudy.
(RUN!) "Oh no!" yelled the stars.
(Oh, good! They didn’t get wet.) Boots thinks they made it to the Stormy Water.
There are three vehicles! What can help them get across?
How about the ship, or el barco?
WHOA!
(Shiver me timbers! Hang on, me hearties!)
"Let’s see if one of the explorer stars can help us see in the dark.”
Let's review the stars and their powers again!
Here's Saltador, the jumping star!
Noisy Star, she's REALLY loud!
Glowy, the bright light star!
the explorer star that can change its shape. (What are they again?)
Which Explorer Star can help us see in the dark?
Now we can see where we’re going!
"What's the matter? What's the matter?!
Now that we can see where we’re going, we can see the...
"Dora, we’re heading right for the sharks, what are we going to do?!
There's only one thing to do:
We're going to have to jump over the sharks!
Boots thinks this is impossible. "Jump over the sharks?"
"How are we going to jump over the sharks?!"
"Explorer Stars, COME QUICK!" Dora cried.
Which star can help us jump over the sharks?
Saltador is ready to help us jump over the sharks!
To tell him to jump, we have to say, "¡Salta!"
"¡SALTA!" they both yelled.
The shark didn't like being splashed either!
"Say it with us!" she said. Let's say it together!
GIANT SPLASH (and SQUIRT)!!!
We jumped over all three sharks!
"Thanks for saying, 'salta!'"
Which star can help us make a lot of noise and wake up the sleeping whale? (Saltador, Noisy, or Switchy?)
(HONK!) Noisy Star, right!
Help Noisy Star wake up the whale! Say, "HONK! HONK!"
HONK! HONK! (Wake up, whale!)
We woke up the sleeping whale!
And he’s swimming out of our way!
¡Gracias, Explorer Stars!
And thank YOU for helping!
Look! It's getting bright and sunny again!
Look, the Fiesta Trio is riding on a floatie!
(Oh! THERE'S the picture pop-up sequence! It came back for (what would be) the second and third time.) Water, Mountain, Cloud Castle! We sailed across the Stormy Water (Check!), where do we go next?
The mountain, right! Dragon Mountain!
Those leaves are in the way!
“So next we need to find Dragon Mountain.”
"I see a lot of mountains.” said Boots. (There are five of them.)
Which one is Dragon Mountain? (Is it on the first path, the second path, the third path, the fourth path or the fifth path?)
Woo-Hoo in distance: "WOO-HOO!"
"WOO-HOO!!!" cried the stars.
Let's go get the star pocket…
That mountain is REALLY high!
Boots wonders how they are going to make it over Dragon Mountain.
What can take them over Dragon Mountain?
El barco, (That's a boat, not a ship, so it should be "El bote.")
o el submarino (the submarine)?
How about the train, or el tren?
"Hey, that's our friend Azul the Blue Train!" (Maybe Azul can take them over Dragon Mountain! All they have to do is ask him!)
"Azul, can you give us a ride over Dragon Mountain?"
Boots explains more. "We need to save our friend, Woo-Hoo."
"Sure! Next stop… Dragon Mountain!"
Azul notices something. "Hey, look! Dora, there's a pattern in the tracks: Square, triangle, circle!"
"We made it to the top of Dragon Mountain!"
(stars clapping and cheering)
But now we have to go down Dragon Mountain!
And we have to go down fast because…
(distant roaring) Uh-oh! What was that sound?!
Suddenly Azul sees something bad ahead. "OH, NO!" he cried.
There's some missing pieces in the tracks!
We need an explorer star to help us!
(Let's review the stars one more time.)
Switchy!" (Switchy turned into a square!)
Which Explorer Star can help us fill in the missing shapes?
Switchy will fill in the missing shapes. But we need to figure out which shape should be. Let’s look at the pattern!
What goes here?
Circle, right!
Sure enough, he turns into a circle!
Now they can pass through.
"Oh no! ANOTHER piece is missing!" Well, Switchy knows what to do!
Let's look at the pattern!
What goes here?
Square, right!
Now they can pass through
(Saltador and Switchy slap a high-five)
The dragon caught up! "WAIT!" he yelled.
"I was just trying to warn you,
those tracks are missing some pieces!"
(OH! Well, bless my stars!) "He's a friendly dragon!"
"Well, I'm glad you got down okay."
How did the Fiesta Trio get in there if they jumped out of the train cars?
Woo-Hoo in distance: "WOO-HOO!"
"WOO-HOO!!!" yelled Dora.
We sailed across the Stormy Water (Check!), we went over Dragon Mountain (Check!), where do we go next?
Cloud Castle, si!
[Note: By production order, this is the end of the picture pop-up sequence before being replaced by Map; we won't see it again until her around-the-world adventure.]
We need to find the highest cloud.
"There are LOTS of clouds!" said Boots.
Which cloud is the highest?
And look! There's the Cloud Castle! (But, how are they going to get up there?)
Saltador can help them jump all the way to the Cloud Castle!
We've got to find Woo-Hoo and the star pocket!
"Looking for THIS?" said a naughty voice.
They make an about-face to see...
Someone has got ahold of it now, but who?
A prince! It's the Prince of the Cloud Castle!
He's got the star pocket! (Oh, so THAT'S how Swiper took it and delivered it with a balloon to the Prince! They sure form an unholy alliance.)
Woo-Hoo doesn’t know where he is. "WOO-HOO!
WOO-HOO!" He sounds scared!
(Hang in there, Woo-Hoo! The cavalry has arrived!)
But the guards are blocking them!
Boots tells him what he's doing is wrong. "That's not YOUR star pocket! That's Dora's!"
"Her abuela gave it to her!"
The prince doesn’t seem to care. "I'm the prince of the Cloud Castle!
And EVERYTHING inside this castle
ME!" Well, THAT sounds greedy!
"GIVE US BACK OUR STAR POCKET!!!" yelled Boots.
"I'M the star catcher NOW!"
(In a mad voice): "WOO-HOO!!!"
(You're wrong, Your Highness. Only the rightful star catcher can be like a real Pokémon Trainer of being best friends.)
(He's so scared that he almost feels like crying.)
"You're not a REAL star catcher!" Dora argued.
"My abuela told me that a REAL star catcher is a friend to the stars!"
Here are the stars right now, who also agree.
"I'LL show you that I’m a REAL star catcher!"
Is there going to be an exhibition match?
The prince made a deal AND the challenge together. "We can have a contest!" he said. Ooh, a star-catching contest!
"Whoever catches more stars,
can have this star pocket!" he continued.
Boots cheers. "GO, DORA! GO, DORA! YOU CAN DO IT!" he went.
Summon more stars for the challenge!
LET THE CHALLENGE BEGIN!!
"We have to catch them to save Woo-Hoo!"
"Now, NOW! Let's be star catchers!"
"Reach up to catch the stars!"
"Reach up, reach up! And...
"Now, let’s see who caught the MOST stars!" said the prince.
The prince didn’t get any.
…Dora caught ALL of them!
"We caught all the stars!" she cheered.
"Wow. You're a great star catcher.”
(Stars clamoring) "YAAAAAAY!!"
"Thanks, Dora!" said Woo-Hoo as he hugs her.
"You're welcome, Woo-Hoo!"
(What now? Maybe he'll stop Swiper and ask his guards to throw him away...)
The prince sadly walks back
Woo-Hoo can cheer him up!
"I guess I was wrong to try to keep the star pocket.”
“It’s better to be a friend to the stars.”
He finally learned a lesson.
(Congratulations! You have completed the first Star Catching adventure to gain the title of the Star Catcher Champion!)
Now, it's time to dance for the Star-Catching mission completion! [Note the star pocket somehow disappeared again.]
We got the star pocket from Abuela
We did it, We did it! We did it,
When that mean old Swiper came
He did it! (Wait a sec! How did he get there?!)
I did it! (Wow! And he joined the song! NOW we guess he will find out what it's like to be a star catcher if he will caught them and use them to help Dora and Boots on a whole adventure in the future!)
and we jumped over the sharks!
WE DID IT!!
(song ends and the stars are still cheering)
We caught so many stars on our trip today!
What was YOUR favorite star?
Dora liked that star, too!
(What?! They're not going to tell us their favorite stars?!) Let's count to see how many stars they caught!
To call the stars, say "Estrellas"!
Count with me in Spanish!
¡Doce estrellas! Twelve stars! (WOW! That's a LOT of stars! A new record!!)
"Great star-catching! We couldn’t have done it without you!"
Look at them all go! WHEEEE!
