[Here is where our story starts at the Animal Rescue Center
once again.]
What's up, Dora and Boots?
Look who else is here! He's Dora's cousin and an animal rescuer! Do you know who it is?
"YAY!" cheered Boots as he hugs Diego.
He and his parents run the
all better." (The tapir's all better now!)
"Hey, Diego," said Boots.
"Do you have any new animals here
"That sounds like the Rescue Truck right now. The Rescue Truck must have a lost animal."
"Let's see what animal is inside."
"ORK-ORK! ORK-ORK!" it said.
"What animal is it?" Dora asks.
(Boots tickles him with his finger)
"The penguin is saying hello!"
Diego decides they should do the same! "We need to say
"ORK-ORK!" said the little penguin.
"Hello, penguin!" said Boots as he shakes its hand.
The penguin can talk. "¡Hola!"
Diego is impressed. "Good, penguin!" he said.
Pingüino gets all sweaty.
More sweat is pouring! Too hot?
"He looks HOT!" said Dora.
"We'd better get back to his home."
"Where does he live?" asked Boots.
Diego has an idea: "Let's check my field journal!"
"My field journal has lots of information about birds
Right, there they are! Those are Emperor Penguins!
Do they live where it's hot, or where it's cold?
Cold, right! These kinds of penguins live in the South Pole, where it's REALLY cold.
"He's REALLY far from HOME!"
misses his mommy and daddy!"
Boots cheers Pengüino up with a hug.
"We need to bring the penguin home
Dora asks, "Will YOU help us bring the penguin home to the South Pole?"
WILL you? Pingüino would really appreciate it!
Pengüino feels all better now that he's getting help.
He does a happy dance! "ORK!"
(Wait a minute!) "But Dora...
how do we GET to the South Pole?"
(It's really far from here!)
when we don't know which way to go?"
Will YOU check the Map to find out
how to get to the South Pole?
There he is! You know what to do to get him to spring out of Backpack!
SPRIIIIIIING…! Let's see what he says!
He's ready to help! "Dora, Boots, and Diego need to bring the penguin home to the South Pole!"
"ORK-ORK!" "PINGÜINO, PINGÜINO!"
"The South Pole is VERY far away!"
"But I know how to get there!" Listen carefully...
First, you have to go across the Icy Water.
Then, you climb over the Snowy Mountain.
And that's how you'll get to the South Pole to bring the penguin home!
"Ooh, ¡estrellas!"
Oh! Try and catch stars along the way!
So remember: Water, Mountain, South Pole!
Water, Mountain, South Pole! Where do we go first?
The water, right! The Icy Water!
"WATER!" Pingüino shouted.
"ORK, ORK!" squawked Pingüino.
"The icy water is SO far away!"
"How are we EVER going to get to the Icy Water?!" Boots asked.
"Do you see something that can fly us to the Icy Water?"
"Nos puedes llevar, por favor?" (Can you give us a ride, please?)
con mucho gusto!" said El Avión.
(But before they can put on their seatbelts, they need something else important because it gets COLD in the Arctic…)
Pingüino pretends to fly in the air. "ORK, ORK!
Diego tells something interesting to Boots. "Hey! You know what, Boots?"
Here it is: "Penguins are birds that
"¡ARRIBA, ARRIBA!" Pingüino yelled.
¡ESTRELLAS!" Pingüino squawked.
"Try and catch us!" said a star.
What star is THAT?! "Look!" Boots cried.
"It's Helada the Explorer Star!"
"Helada's made ice sculptures!"
Helada!" Dora said. (We'll see if your arctic wish came true!)
Reach up to catch the stars!
Dora got her wish! "And you caught Helada!" Boots told her.
Let's put them in the star pocket.
"The star pocket!" the stars cried.
Now, we need to find the Icy Water.
"THERE it is!" said Boots.
"ORK-ORK!" squawked Pingüino.
"Let's take the penguin home to the South Pole!"
"Thanks, Avión!" said Boots.
"But how are we going to get across the Icy Water?" Diego wondered.
"ORK-ORK!" squawked Pingüino.
Do you see anything that can get them across?
Boots tries pulling. (Where are the keys?)
"YAY, PINGÜINO!!!" they all cheered.
He tossed them into the water.
Now he's tossing it into the Icy Water!
"You'll NEVER find your keys
(laughing maniacally): "HA-HA-HA-HA!"
lost for sure.” said Boots.
(Maybe we need someone that can dive in the icy water.)
Looks like Pingüino has an idea!
Diego knows! "Pingüino is diving for the keys!"
Boots is still a bit worried. "Will he be okay?" he asked.
"No problem, Boots!"
(That's because penguins are warm to dive the cold water.)
“Will you help Pingüino find the keys?”
(They are in the biggest clam.)
To tell Pingüino to go down, we say, "abajo".
Can you say, "abajo"?
Say, "abajo"!
Thanks for helping Pingüino find the keys!
Pingüino gives Diego the keys.
Time to release the boat!
Watch out! Here comes an iceberg!
"OH, NO! WE'RE STUCK!" yelled Boots.
"HOW WE'LL WE GET THROUGH?!"
"We need something to break through
Diego had an idea! "If we call to the blue whale,
she'll clear the way for us!"
Help Diego call the whale! Listen carefully, and he'll tell you what to do!
"To help me call to the whale,
say: 'Ha-ooooh, ha-ooooh!'"
There's a blowhole stream behind the boat!
"WOW!" said Boots to Diego. "That whale SURE is BIG!"
Diego tells another interesting fact to Boots. "The blue whale is the BIGGEST animal
The Blue Whale smashes the snow and ice.
"Now we can get past all the ice and snow!"
"Yay! We made it across the Icy Water!"
Watch this! (What's the word for down, Pingüino?)
"¡ABAJO!" yelled Pingüino.
The Fiesta Trio is all bundled up!
"Where do we go next, Dora?"
We made it across the Icy Water. Where do we go next?
Mountain, right! Snowy Mountain.
Pingüino is getting excited! "ORK-ORK!"
"MAMA! PAPA!" he squawked.
"We've gotta get to Snowy Mountain
so we can bring the penguin home to the South
(Once again…) "Seatbelts!"
"So we can be safe!" (Right, Diego!)
"Snowmobile sure is fast!"
"We have to watch out for seals!" (They don't want to run them over!)
Diego has a plan. "I know
clap and say, "Arf, arf, arf",
Diego sees one right now. "A seal!"
(Let's make some noise to get it to move!)
ARF, ARF, ARF!
(CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!)
The seal heard you and he moved away!
ARF, ARF, ARF!
(CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!)
Watch out! There's ANOTHER seal!
"QUICK!" Diego reminded. "Clap and say,
ARF, ARF, ARF!
(CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!)
"Thanks for clapping and saying,
"We made it to the Snowy Mountain!" said Dora.
"Thanks for the fun ride,
(That mountain SURE is big!)
But he slips down. "WHOOOOOA!!!" he hollered.
"HOW will we get up Snowy Mountain,
Pingüino has another idea!
"Look at Pingüino! He's waddling up Snowy Mountain!"
waddle like penguins to get up Snowy Mountain!"
"Will YOU help us waddle like penguins?"
"You have to stand up to waddle like penguins!"
"WHOOOOOOOA!!!" they shouted.
OOOOOOOORRRRRK!!!!!" cried Pingüino.
The mountain broke in half!!!
"OH, NO!!!" Dora screamed.
"DORA, DORA!!! WHAT DO WE DO?!?!?!"
"WE CAN'T GET ACROSS!!!!!"
"DON'T WORRY, BOOTS!" Dora called out.
"WE'LL THINK OF SOMETHING!"
"We need a rescue line!" Diego suggests.
Dora has some! "I've got a rope in my backpack!"
"¡Rapido!" says Backpack. "Dora needs a rope! Do you see the rope?"
"Right, that's the rope!"
"Oh, no! The rope got stuck!"
"Rápido, I need your help!" Help Backpack get it out by pulling it again like
the last time!
Put your hands out in front of you
Pull, pull, pull, pull, pull, pull, PULL!!!
YAY! We pulled the rope again!
"Now I need your help to throw the rope!"
"Put your arm in the air and
Now Boots and Pingüino can slide down!
"Pingüino! You were SO brave!"
"ORK-ORK!" squawked Pingüino.
"ORK-ORK!" Diego replied.
this mountain!" (But how?)
Let's think… wasn't there an explorer star that can do things on the ice?
it's Helada the Explorer Star!" said Boots. Maybe Helada can help.
Let's see what she will do.
She's making a path to slide down.
"Helada's making a path for us!"
"So we can slide down the mountain!"
Who ELSE is sliding down the mountain?
It's the Fiesta Trio on a sled!
Helada flies back into the star pocket.
Like the other two times, Dora holds Pingüino for the Picture Pop-Up Sequence.
We went across the Icy Water; we climbed over the Snowy Mountain; where do we go next?
The South Pole, right!
"We need to find the South Pole."
¿Donde esta? Where's the South Pole?
There's the flagpole. (There's a picture of a penguin on the flag.)
Pengüino is getting more excited! "ORK-ORK…
They're sliding down the hill to get there.
"Look at all the penguins!" said Boots.
"There are SO MANY!" Diego replied.
This penguin goes diving in the water.
and daddy." (They must be somewhere in the crowd of penguins.)
That must be them! They heard you!
"MAMA!! PAPA!!!" cheered Pingüino.
"ORK-ORK!" squawked Mommy Penguin.
"PINGÜINO! PENGÜINO!" said Daddy Penguin.
"ORK-ORK!" said Pingüino's parents.
"ORK-ORK!" they said to Dora, Boots, and Diego.
"They're saying 'thank you'!" Diego explained.
Come on! Let's tell them "You're welcome"!
"Now Pingüino is back home with his family!"
Here come the Fiesta Trio on their sled!
We called to animals with my cousin Diego!
"What was your favorite part of the trip?"
Now is the time to tell them your most favorite part of the arctic adventure!
(As always…) "I liked that, too!"
(What about you three? What did you guys like?)
Looks like Boots' favorite part was saying,
and… looks like he has ANOTHER favorite! "And, and,
and calling to the Blue Whale!" he said.
Diego's favorite part was
riding on the snowmobile.
"That was DEFINITELY cool!" he said.
seeing Pingüino's mama and papa at the South Pole!
To call the stars, say, "¡Estrellas!"
(LOUD and PROUD! Say it!)
"We couldn't have done it
(click, beep)
(Have a nice day and get home safe warm, you three!)
