[Looks like we're at Grandma's House today!]
Hey, guys!
Abuela's impressed! "OOH!"
Dora has a request: "Abuela, will you tell us a story about when you were a little girl?" So she would like to hear a story about Abuela's childhood memories.
I had a special chocolate tree."
"A CHOCOLATE tree?!" they said.
"Oh, Abuela, tell us the story!" said Dora.
"Tell us! TELL US!" said Boots.
Are YOU ready to hear it?
"I lived in a little house."
And near my house there grew the sweetest little chocolate tree!"
feel better." (How sweet!)
(narrating:) "The Chocolate Tree taught me
The tree would wiggle his tree trunk and sing.
(music starts) Ready for a song?
Dora wants to know what happened to it. "But, Abuela..."
"WHAT happened to the chocolate tree?" she asked.
What happened to the tree?" Boots added.
"When I grew up, our family moved FAR away
Dora has another request! "Abuela, will you teach us the chocolate song?"
"¡Con mucho gusto!" ("With great pleasure!") she said.
How about you? "Will you sing the chocolate song with us?"
They all make an imaginary bowl and spoon with their hands.
Bate, bate, chocolate!
(YOUR turn!)
Dora and Boots repeat the line. Bate, bate, chocolate!
Mix your chocolate, chocolate!
"I LOVED the story about the chocolate tree!" Dora said to Abuela.
(Oh, no! Why is Abuela sad?!)
"I REALLY missed that chocolate tree!"
She's really sad. She goes to her room.
"She misses her tree," said Boots.
Something flew into Dora's head. "I've got an
"We can find Abuela's Chocolate Tree
and bring her some chocolate!"
Boots LOVES the idea! "OOH-OOH-AAH-AAH!!!"
she could make us a chocolate treat!"
"CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE!! CHOCOLATE!!!"
"Hey, Dora!" (Boots slides to the left…)
FIND the Chocolate Tree?"
Who do we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?"
Come on, Boots! Take a wild guess!
"The Map can tell us how to find the Chocolate Tree!"
Will you check the Map and find out how to get to the Chocolate Tree?
(There he is!) Come on! Say it!
Great! (SPRIIIIIIING!) Up he goes!
Map's ready for work! "Dora and Boots want to find Abuela's special Chocolate Tree! Well, I know how to get to the Chocolate Tree!"
Listen carefully to his instructions...
First, you go through the jungle.
Then, you go past the Bear's Cave.
And that's how you get to the Chocolate Tree
so you can bring chocolate to Abuela!
So here's what you tell Dora: Jungle, Cave, Chocolate Tree!
How do we find the Chocolate Tree?
Jungle, Cave, Chocolate Tree! First, we go through the jungle;
Then we go past the Bear's Cave;
And that's how we'll get to the Chocolate Tree! Thanks for helping!
So first we have to find the jungle.
"Yeah, THERE's the jungle!"
Abuela!" (And make her day!)
Jungle, Cave, Chocolate Tree!
Jungle,
CHOCOLATE TREE! (Boots does a flip.)
Come on, let's get to it!
I know that we can do it!
Where are we going?
Chocolate Tree! Where are we going?
Chocolate Tree!
WHERE are we going?
(Hey there, Fiesta Trio!) Chocolate Tree!
CHOCOLATE TREE!!!
(song ends)
That was fun! Now let's keep going!
Distant voice: "CUIDADO! CUIDADO!"
"Señor Tucán wants us to watch out!" (Watch out for WHAT, Señor?)
"Torugas mordedoras."
Dora translates: "In the jungle, there are snapping turtles!"
[This would have been a good time for
Camilla to help!]
"Culebras largas."
"Loooooooong snakes!"
"¡Y un cocodrilo,
GRANDE!"
"And one BIG crocodile!"
"Necesitan galletas para dar a
"The animals won’t let us go by unless we feed them some cookies." Dora tells Boots.
Where can they find some cookies?
Dora asks: "I need YOUR help!
Will you check my Backpack
(You know what to do!)
"You have to say, 'Backpack'!"
Say "Backpack", say "Backpack"!
"¡Hola!" greeted Backpack.
"I have lots of stuff, but Dora needs cookies to feed las tortugas, las culebras, y el cocodrilo. The cookies are in a round container that's yellow with a blue star."
Do you see a round container that's yellow with a blue star?
Where?!
"You found the cookies! ¡Muy bien! ¡Excelente!"
Now we have TWELVE cookies!"
I HOPE it's enough!" said Boots. (We'll see…)
"GIVE US YOUR COOKIES!" said a turtle.
"Or we WON'T let you by!" added another turtle.
Snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap!
Let's count the snapping turtles to see how many cookies we need.
"Now let's feed the turtles
Get ready to count as she tosses the cookies.
"All right! YOU can go by!" said the turtle on the top.
"Dora, do we have any cookies left?" asked Boots.
Maybe YOU can help them out!
"How many cookies do we have left? We had twelve cookies; we gave away eight.
"Four, right! FOUR cookies!"
"Ooh, I hope it's enough!"
"Give us your cookies!" said a snake.
"Or we won't let you by!" added another one.
"We have give them their cookies! How many snakes are there?!"
"Now let's feed the snakes! Count with me!"
"All right! You can go by!"
Let's see how many cookies are left.
"How many cookies do we have left?" asked Boots.
"We had four cookies; we gave away three; and now we have...?"
"ONE cookie left! Right!"
"ONE cookie left…" Boots said. "How many crocodiles are there?"
How many crocodiles did Señor Tucán say there are?
"I won't let you by unless you give me a cookie!"
And sure enough, they have one left! "We've got a cookie for you, cocodrilo!"
She tosses it into Cocodrilo's mouth.
Boots stands on the rock and lifts the leaves.
(fanfare playing) Look who's coming!
The Fiesta Trio is swinging on a vine! WHEEEEE!
"We made it through the jungle!"
"Where do we go next, Dora?"
We went through the jungle, so next comes the…?
Cave, right! The Bear's Cave! (Watch out for the bear!)
Now where is the Bear's Cave? (There's a butterfly blocking it.)
"Yeah, there's the cave! The Bear's Cave!"
"Come on, let's go get chocolate for Abuela!"
There are three changes in the travel song: "Come on say it with us!"
"Jungle, Cave, (And Boots does the same flip from said episode)
The third and final change is "Where are we going?"
"We'd better be careful!"
Someone peeks out of a bush.
I didn't mean to scare you."
"Boots! It's not the bear,
"Where are you going?" Isa asked.
"We're going to the Chocolate Tree to get chocolate for my Abuela."
"But first we have to go past the Bear's Cave!"
"Oh. Well, you better be ready to
"The bear likes songs, and they put him to sleep."
"I hope you know a song to sing to this bear."
Luckily... "WE know a song!" (What can they sing?)
An idea came to mind...
(whispering:) Bate, bate, chocolate.
Inside the Bear's Cave. But where’s the bear?
(What's that?!)
Dora asks, "Where is the bear?"
"We have to sing to put the Bear to sleep!"
Will you help us sing the chocolate song?
Ready? Make a spoon with one hand and a bowl with the other!
Mix your chocolate, chocolate!
"(yawns) Chocolate... Mmm, yummy..." said the bear.
(quietly:) Bate, bate, chocolate!
Bate, bate, chocolate!
Mix your chocolate, chocolate!
"Look! The bear is sleeping!"
(whispering): "Come on, let's go get chocolate for Abuela!"
(HEY! That's too loud! The bear's trying to sleep!)
Dora and Boots are now nervous because of the loud music.
(yawns) He gets back to sleep.
The Fiesta Trio's loud fanfare didn't wake him up!
We made it through the jungle;
We made it past the Bear's Cave;
So next comes the…?
CHOCOLATE TREE! Right!
"We should be able to see the Chocolate Tree from HERE!"
"But I don't see it!" said Boots. (Because those clouds are in the way!)
Do you see the chocolate tree?
"Yeah, THERE's the chocolate tree!"
Chocolate Tree was taking a nap until…
"CHOCOLATE TREE! CHOCOLATE TREE!!" Dora said happily.
The tree wakes up! "¡HOLA!" he greeted. (Listen, his voice is deeper.)
"It's the Chocolate Tree!"
"Another little girl I used to know
"That's mi Abuela," Dora told him.
"She's all grown up now."
"Ha ha! So am I!" said the Chocolate Tree.
"She taught us your chocolate song!"
He has a request: "Can you sing it
Will you help us sing the chocolate song for the Chocolate Tree?
Will you? He'd appreciate it!
Bate, bate, chocolate!
Bate, bate, chocolate!
Mix your chocolate, chocolate!
BATE, BATE, CHOCOLATE! (song ends)
(What do you think, Señor Chocolate Tree?)
"Chocolate Tree," said Boots.
"Aww, I miss her, too, little monkey!"
"Ah, but I've got an idea!"
You can plant it for Abuela!"
"¡Gracias, Chocolate Tree!"
"Boots! Did you hear that?"
"That sneaky fox will try to swipe
our chocolate beans!" (Then Abuela won't get her present!)
Ready? WHERE can that sneaky fox be hiding?!
IT'S SWIPER! Now we can stop him easily!
Thanks for helping us stop Swiper!
(music begins) Well, that song is gonna be stuck in his head for a LONG time!
(Back at Abuela's house...)
Dora puts the chocolate bean in,
Boots uses his tail to hold the watering can.
"Hey, Chocolate Tree," said Boots.
"Can we have some chocolate?"
"YAAAAAY!!!!!" cheered Dora and Boots.
Here it is! The moment they've all been waiting for!
Abuela's here with three bowls, enough for all of them. "I think
"Will you help us make the chocolate?"
"Great!" Listen to her instructions.
First, you put your hands together
big spoon.
Abuela gives out the next step.
Now, sing with me while you mix the chocolate!
Mix your chocolate, chocolate!
Mix-your-chocolate-chocolate!
(song ends) Good singing! And now comes the big moment...!
"It's READY!" said Abuela.
Boots is super excited. "OH BOY, OH BOY! YES!!!"
"I TOLD YOU!" said Abuela.
We went through the jungle and past the cave!
We gave cookies to the turtles, and they ran away!
We sang the bear to sleep, and got past him!
We had such an exciting trip
What was your favorite part of the trip?
Go ahead! Tell them the best part!
As always: "I liked that, too!"
What were their favorites?
Boots says his favorite part was
"We couldn't have found the Chocolate Tree without you!"
(click, beep)
Have a nice day, guys!
