Dora the Explorer Theme Song is the theme song of Dora the Explorer that is used in most of the episodes, excluding a few specials from Season 5 onwards. The theme song is composed by Joshua Sitron, Billy Straus, and Sarah Durkee.

A special extended version is featured in the Dora the Explorer Live stage shows.

Another extended version is featured in the album version of Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

Trivia[]

There is an animation error for Seasons 1-2 theme. All of the characters are slightly seen across the left side of the screen; they are walking on everything on the left side of the screen.
"You can lead the way!" is misheard as "You can't lead the way!".
The original theme song is sung by the cast.
The Dora and Boots animation from the Season 1-2 Theme is used for the "Dora Saves the Prince" Game on nickjr.com.
In live shows,
This is the only song included in Go, Diego, Go! Live: The Great Jaguar Rescue to not be in the album for said live show.

Goofs/Errors[]

In the Season 3-4 version, Boots says "Let's go!". However, Dora's lips can be seen moving instead of his. This error wasn't fixed until Season 5-6.

Variants[]

In the closing credits, the theme is instrumental.
- This is the case during the Season 1-4 Character Find segments, but then the song was replaced by an instrumental version of the Star Catching Song during mini-game segments featuring the Explorer Stars.
  - These segments were replaced from Season 5 onwards by clouds featuring scenes from various episodes, which has been something similarly done with Go, Diego, Go!.
The full instrumental version for the first season theme was included on the album "Nick Jr. Sing-Along Karaoke".
The lyrics changed a little when the show went into High Definition Television.
There is also a 2-minute party remix of the song released on the Party Favorites album of the show. This was released in 2008.
In Season 5-6, the theme song does not have the stars anymore, and it is replaced with scenes from other episodes. The singers are different from Seasons 3-4.

- Go, Diego, Go! Live: The Great Jaguar Rescue uses a shorter version of the theme song when Dora first appears.
A Christmas version of the song is within the tweaked opening music with Nochebuena lines.
Another 2 minute remix of the first season music was created by Attic Stein. The remix is extended and contains more musical sound effects added.
Some part of it is heard in a movie called License to Wed.
On Nick Jr.com Radio, the lyrics are tweaked for the Season 3-6 theme, instead of Dora saying "Vamos arriba!", she says "Vámonos arriba". Boots' "Ooh-ooh-Aah-aah!" is replaced with his laughter from the Season 1 theme song. It is unknown why it was not used in any episodes. It is possible that it's just a prototype or demo version of the Season 3-4 theme song, very similar to the way the Season 1-2 theme song in The Legend of the Big Red Chicken with the lines "Boots and super cool explorer Dora" and "Vámanos!" having different vocals.
The Season 1-2 version of the song is featured as the thirty-ninth track in Dance And Sing! The Best Of Nick Jr, as well as the first track in Dora the Explorer (album).
In Latin Spanish, the lyrics are changed and sometimes added like when the chorus said "Sale Con el Sol Desde La Aurora", when Dora says "Necesito Tu Ayuda Para Llegar A La Montaña!", and when Map says "Consulta Mapa!".
There have been changes to the end of the theme song for international versions, such as for US DVDs with Spanish or French audio tracks, International DVDs with other audio tracks, or airings on international channels:
- On international versions and some USA DVD prints of the theme for Seasons 1-2, the Nick Jr Butterflies logo disappears, with a Nickelodeon butterfly logo appearing after the show's logo does.
- For international versions and some USA DVD prints of the Seasons 3-4 theme, the Nick Jr Butterflies are retained, but they are blank. After it zooms out to show the full logo, the same Nickelodeon butterfly from international versions of the Seasons 1-2 theme appears.
- On international versions and Nick On Demand En Español prints of the early Season 5 theme, it’s the same as Seasons 3-4, but instead of the Nickelodeon butterfly logo appearing, the Nickelodeon splat logo takes its place.
