Trivia[]

  • This PC game is based on the episode, Backpack!.
  • There are several notable differences between the game and actual episode:
    • Benny, Isa, Tico, and the Chocolate Tree appeared in this PC game, unlike the actual episode.
      • For Dora's parents, it's the other way around where they appear in the episode, but not the game.
    • It starts with Dora having already gotten Backpack, instead of her parents presenting her.
    • In the episode, Dora has eight books to return; in the game, eight books are present in levels 2 and 3, but in level 1, only five books were present.
    • Boots does not get a boo-boo nor cry.
    • The Flowery Garden and Chocolate Tree appear as sub-places, despite not appearing in the episode.
      • For the Icky-Sticky Sand, it's the other way around where it appears in the episode, but not the game.
    • To cross the Troll Bridge, Dora and Boots have to pay a shape toll in the game; in the episode, they had to use scissors to cut through a net.
    • Due to Mr. Troll's change in behavior as of Season 2, he no longer vows to stump Dora and Boots next time after they solve the riddle.
    • When crossing the Troll Bridge, Dora says, "Adios, Señor Troll!" in the game, while in the episode, Backpack says it.
    • The Big Rock is much larger in the game than it appeared in the episode.
    • In the episode, Dora and Boots use a rope to climb the Big Rock; in the game, Benny gives them a ride up the rock in his balloon.
    • To get down the Big Rock, Dora and Boots slide down in the episode; in the game, Tico gives them a ride down in his slide ride.
    • Before Swiper swipes Backpack, they say "Swiper, no swiping!" three times in the game (although Swiper swipes the item instead of saying "Oh man!"). In the episode, Dora and Boots say "Swiper, no...", but Swiper swipes Backpack, causing them to finish their sentence by saying "...swiping...".
    • When Swiper swipes Backpack, she is thrown into the Dancing Bushes in the game; in the episode, she is thrown into a tree.
    • The library bell sounds different in the game than the actual episode. In the latter, it is a traditional ringing bell; in the former, it sounds like a bonging church bell.
    • Dora and Boots do not say, "¡Abre!" to get the library door to open.
    • Unlike the episode, after Dora returns her books, in the game, she and each of her friends get to pick out a book of their choice.
  • In the Library Game, Dora, Boots, and Isa are in all levels. Benny is added in level 2 and Tico is added in level 3.
  • In levels 1 and 2 of the Troll Bridge game, Dora says, "We have to put the right shapes in the toll booth.", but in level 3, she says, "We have to find the right shapes to pay the toll." instead.
  • In levels 1 and 2 of the Dancing Bushes game, Boots says, "Backpack is behind one of those bushes, but they keep dancing around. Where is she?", but in level 3, he says, "Dora, all those bushes look the same.".
  • In levels 1 and 2 of the Dancing Bushes game, Dora says, "We need your help to find Backpack. Click on the bush that Backpack is in.", but in level 3, she says, "I know we can do it. Let's watch closely. Keep track of the bush where Swiper threw Backpack." instead.
  • Dora and Boots' voices sound like themselves from Season 3 in this PC game. However, their appearances are based on their Season 1, Version 3 design.
    • It's possible that the recordings of Dora and Boots' voices were recorded while Season 3 was in production, as the game did come out in 2002.
  • The Atari version cuts out the Travel Song.
  • In levels 2 and 3 of the Troll Bridge game, the Grumpy Old Troll says, "One piece is missing. This is true, but I bet that I can't fool you." in round 4 and in round 5, he sometimes says "Find the mystery piece. I dare you!".
  • After the second round of the Troll Bridge game, the Grumpy Old Troll does not say anything about three more rounds, but he says, "I can't fool you!" after saying, "That was two." which rhymes with it instead.
  • When the Grumpy Old Troll says, "That was two.", he shrugs.
  • In the sticker book, Dora says, "Click this arrow to go back to the sign-in screen/map.".
  • In the Dancing Bushes game, Dora does not say, "If you want to play something else, click on Map.".
  • In the Dora's house game, Dora does not say, "Let's play this again.".
  • In level 1 of the Big Rock game, Dora, Boots, and Benny find the right number two times, but in levels 2 and 3, they find it three times instead.
  • In level 1 of the Dora's house and Big Rock games, the words are said in English. In level 2, in English and Spanish, and in level 3, just Spanish.
  • In level 3, if you click Backpack, the wrong thing in free play mode, color book in adventure mode, or anywhere in the room two times in Dora's house, Dora will say it in English.
  • In the Dora's house game, the books are used in adventure mode, and the clothes, foods, instruments, tools, and toys are used in free play mode.
  • In level 1 of the Big Rock game, two of Benny's animal friends are picked up, in level 2, Benny picks up three of them, and in level 3, he picks up four of them.
  • In level 1 of the Big Rock game, the number appears on the basket, but in levels 2 and 3, it's invisible.
  • In the Big Rock portion, Benny's balloon looks like an upside-down rainbow.
  • In the Big Rock game, Benny says "Fantastico! Now..." when that question ends and the next one starts.
  • In the Big Rock game, when Benny says "Good finding. We've picked up all of our passengers. Now we can head to the top of the rock!", it ends.
  • In the Big Rock game, when Benny says "That's the number... 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10. Good job!", it needs to be found again.
  • In the Big Rock game, when the number is found for the last time, Benny says "There's...", before saying an animal to reach it.
  • In the Big Rock game, when the incorrect number is found, Benny says "Oops! There's...", an animal and "...way over there. We have to find the path with the number...".
  • In the Big Rock game, when Benny says "Follow the path with the number...", he says a number in English, both English and Spanish, or just Spanish, before saying "To get to..." which is before saying an animal in just English.
  • In the sign-in screen, red is the only color that is not allowed, but pink is instead, along with orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
  • When Benny alone in his hot air balloon reaches Dora, a whoosh is heard.
  • The Big Rock game ends with a cutscene showing the Fiesta Trio giving the player a new blue sticker to add to his or her sticker collection.
  • In free play mode, after Dora says, "Let's play this again.", she says "If you want to play something else, click on Map." in the Troll Bridge, Big Rock, and Library games.
  • In Isa's Flowery Garden, Dora does not say, "Gracias!" after she says, "Look, it's the Fiesta Trio." and sometimes "They have a sticker for your sticker book.".
  • Purple stickers are awarded after the Dancing Bushes and Library games.
  • A new sticker is added to the collection, but only when Dora says, "They have a sticker for your sticker book.".
  • Two yellow stickers, two orange stickers, a single red sticker, three green stickers, a single blue sticker, and a single purple sticker are available at the start.
  • When you have all the yellow, orange, green, and blue stickers, Dora says, "They have a sticker for your sticker book." by mistake.
  • In level 3 of the Library game, clicking on two incorrect answers will make Dora say, "Tico would like a book about…" in Tico's round.
  • In levels 1 and 2 of the Library game, Val holds each book in four of her arms, but in level 3, she holds each book in five arms instead.
  • Level 1 of the Troll Bridge game involves putting shapes in three holes, but levels 2 and 3 have four holes that make patterns with two extra pieces in level 2 and three extra pieces in level 3.

Goofs/Errors[]

  • In the level 1 version of the adventure, the red, yellow, green, blue, and purple books are put in Backpack in the Dora's house game while in the library cutscene, Val holds the orange, brown, white, blue, and purple books in her arms.
  • Before Swiper swipes Backpack, Dora and Boots say, "Swiper, no swiping!" three times, which technically would've stopped him. However, Swiper did not say "Oh, man!" and snap his finger afterwards. Instead, he swipes Backpack, says "You're too late! You'll never find your backpack now!", and throws Backpack far away.
    • In this case, it might be because he is acting like his older self from Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure, who swipes even if people say "Swiper, no swiping!" three times. However, unlike his older self, he does not say, "That doesn't work anymore!" followed by a sinister laugh.
  • When Isa says, "Musical instruments!", she faces up at the ceiling, away from Val.
  • When Dora and Boots cry, "Backpack!", they don't scream.
  • In the sticker book, yellow is first and red is third.
  • In the Chocolate Tree, Boots has Dora's voice.
