Dora Saves King Unicornio (or simply known as Dora Saves the Enchanted Forest or Dora X: Save the Unicorn King!) is the tenth double-length episode, as well as the 12th episode of Dora the Explorer from Season 6.

In production order, it's the 15th episode of Season 6.

This was supposed to air as the third and final episode of the "Enchanted Forest" trilogy, but the true second chapter aired late.

Characters[]

Summary[]

After making the dragons and unicorns friends again and raising Atlantis once more, the Enchanted Forest is in grave peril. Owl, who now turns on everyone in the whole forest, steals Unicornio's position as King and deceives Unicornio by tricking him into repairing a dam by cracking it so he can have the forest to himself. Dora and Boots must embark on a magical quest to the forest to save Unicornio and teach Owl a lesson, but Owl tries to stop them. They'll need everyone's help!

Trivia[]

  • This is the only hour-long episode in the "Enchanted Forest" trilogy.
  • This is the 10th double-length episode of the series.
  • This is the final episode to premiere in 2011.
  • This is supposed to be the last chapter in the "Enchanted Forest" trilogy. In production order and on the DVD it is, but in airing order, it's the second. The real second chapter, The Secret of Atlantis, was pushed back to airing on January 30, 2012. Considering the events in the end of that episode are carried over to this episode, they were aired out of order.
  • Going by production order, this would be the last episode and the final double-length episode where Caitlin Sanchez voices Dora. Beginning with the next, Fátima Ptacek takes over.
  • The first time We're Heading for the Forest is sung, the ‘saying the places' part of the Travel Song is used before going into the actual song.
  • Swiper, Isa, Benny, and Tico don't appear in this episode.
  • Even before the start of the adventure and gaining her final dress in the end, Dora doesn't wear her regular clothes in this episode itself, except in the flashbacks from the first part.
  • There's a set of twin giants that appeared in this episode in which their character models are exactly the same as the Giant-Giant, recolored to easily distinguish them. It's possible that all three giants are triplet brothers.
    • This is similar to the way that Señor Tucán's exact character model appears in various episodes of Go, Diego, Go!, recolored to look a lot like toucans in the wild.
      • Coincidentally, both the aforementioned character and the Giant-Giant (from Season 4-5) are voiced by Leslie Valdes (husband of the show's co-creator Valerie Walsh Valdes).
  • This episode doesn't feature the Dora the Explorer Theme Song at the beginning.
  • Dora and Boots have flashbacks about Owl being king at first in The Secret of Atlantis.
  • Boots mentions that Owl is sneaky. Swiper is also a sneaky character, as well as Pech from the Season 5 episode The Mayan Adventure.
  • Treehouse usually has this episode split into 2 parts and only airs the second part of the episode.
  • This episode premiered exactly 3 years after Benny's Treasure.
  • This is the only hour-long episode to air on the French version of the Dora TV channel in which was aired entirely rather than being split into 2 parts.

Goofs/Errors[]

  • When Owl is spying on Dora and Boots in the Elf Garden, they are almost on the bridge; but when the Mini-Owls make the bridge fall apart, Dora and Boots don't come to the bridge until after it collapses.
  • When Dora and Boots were spotting the Fairy Tunnel, the fork in the road is missing. It appears once Little Fairy mentions it.
