- Mimo the hamster makes a cameo in this book.
- The book's plot is reused for the 2007 (and produced 2003) episode La Maestra de Música, but Dora and Boots help Maestra Beatriz from the episode School Pet (and a 7 year later episode at the time, Pepe the Pig's School Adventure) instead of La Maestra.
- Unlike the episode, the two locations are still a town and a mountain, but instead of just an ordinary town and Musical Mountain, they are Letter Town and Number Mountain.
- Additionally, Dora and Boots still ride on Autobús through the town and Azul over the mountain, but they did not use a zip cord with Diego, they instead ride on giant condors.
- This book was adaption into a book for the Leapfrog Tag reader system in 2008.
