Dora's Royal Rescue (also known as “Dora the Lady Knight Saves Don Quixote” or “Dora XI: The Royal Rescue!") is a Dora the Explorer TV special 11th double-length episode. It was also the 18th episode of Season 6. However, it was held back to airing during Season 7, making it the Season 6 finale.

In production order, it's the 16th episode of Season 6 (and the first episode of Pre-Season 7), as well as the debut of Fátima Ptacek as the new voice of Dora.

Summary

Lady Knight Dora and Squire Boots embark on a noble quest to help Rocinante the horse and Dapple the donkey save Don Quixote, who's been locked in the Abandoned Library by an evil wizard named Malambruno!

Recap

It all started before the finale of helping the Princess rescuing her kitty in Season 6 and before the beginning of Season 7 of helping Pinto winning a ribbon, we came at the statue of Don Quixote with Dora, who's in her classic outfit of Seasons 1-6 and her voice is now Fátima Ptacek instead of Caitlin Sanchez, and all of her friends Benny, Tico, Isa and Boots in Medieval costumes like Kings, Dragons, Maidens, princesses and knights; as well as they also love reading books.

• This is the first time Dora becomes a knight in production order.
• This special took place before Dora's Knighthood Adventure.
• Although a Season 6 episode (and a Pre-Season 7 episode), this episode was aired during Season 7.
  • This is the last episode to be broadcast in 4:3 standard definition for airing order (Swiper's Favorite Things is the last Pre-Season 7 episode in 4:3 SD for production order).
  • This is the last episode featuring Dora in her casual outfit from Seasons 1-6. She continues to wear her pink shirt and her orange shorts, but this is the last time she is seen wearing her original white shoes (Swiper's Favorite Things is the last Pre-Season 7 episode in 4:3 SD for production order).

    • Once again, however, just like with the Witch from Dora Saves the Prince, Señor Shush from Dora, La Música, the Prince of Cloud Castle from Star Catcher, the Dog Catcher from Save the Puppies!, Pirate Pig from Dora's Pirate Adventure (Pirate Pig and his crew's only appearances as the antagonists), the Dancing Elf from Dora's Dance to the Rescue, the Garbage Octopus from Dora Saves the Mermaids, Pech from The Mayan Adventure, the Greedy King from Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom, and Owl from the Enchanted Forest trilogy, Malambruno reforms himself and is forgiven by Dora, Boots, Benny, Isa, Tico, Swiper, Don Quixote, Rocinante and Dapple for his actions.
  • This is the fourth double-length episode where Swiper has a minor role after Dora's Pirate Adventure, Dora Saves the Snow Princess, and Dora's Big Birthday Adventure.

Goofs/Errors

• During the fanfare at the end of the episode, the Fiesta Trio had music sheets instead of their instruments. It is unknown how their fanfare would play if they don’t have their instruments.
