Trivia[]
- If one goes by production order, there would be a lot of firsts in this episode. (In airing order, these would apply to The Backpack Parade.) This includes:
- The first episode of Season 5.
- The first episode featuring a new voice actor for Dora, Boots, Backpack, and Tico. The characters were recast due to the age of the original child actors.
- Dora and Boots are no longer voiced by Kathleen Herles (although she continued the role on Go, Diego, Go!) and Harrison Chad (although he continued the role of Leo's singing voice on Disney's Little Einstein). They are now instead voiced by Caitlin Sanchez (for Dora; until the end of Season 6) and Regan Mizrahi (for Boots; through the end of Season 7).
- However, prior to the production of this episode, Sanchez and Mizrahi's actual debuts were in the 2007 flash games Dora's Purple Planet Adventure and Candy Land: Dora the Explorer Edition, respectively.
- Tico is no longer voiced by Jose Zelaya (who still voices the Bobo Brothers all the way through Season 3 of Go, Diego, Go! until he was replaced by Andres Filipe Aristizabal in Season 4). He is now voiced by Jean Carlos Celi (through the end of Season 6).
- Although Backpack doesn't speak in this episode, she is no longer voiced by Sasha Toro (although she continued the role on Go, Diego, Go! and would return in 2019 for the movie). She is now voiced by Alexandria Suarez (through the end of Season 7).
- In any case, however, Map, Swiper, and the Fiesta Trio are still voiced by Marc Weiner and they are the only ones not to have new voice actors.
- The same implies with the Big Red Chicken, Grumpy Old Troll, Pirate Pig (all voiced by Chris Gifford), and other recurring characters who still have the same voice actors.
- In any case, however, Map, Swiper, and the Fiesta Trio are still voiced by Marc Weiner and they are the only ones not to have new voice actors.
- The first episode that Dora's voice is medium-pitched.
- The introduction received minor changes. Since the star-catching portions have been dropped, all clips relating to explorer stars were removed. A rainbow and sun appear in place of the Explorer Stars at the beginning, none of them follow behind Tico's car as that gets replaced with a clip from Dora Saves the Game, and clips from Dora Saves the Snow Princess and Benny's Big Race replace the ones from Stuck Truck and Louder!, respectively. However, the clips from The Lost City and Meet Diego! are still featured. Finally, the Nick Jr. logo for this and the next seven episodes in order of production (later no logo) appears above the show's logo at the end.
- The first episode the original cast does not sing the Dora the Explorer Theme Song due to their departure. This would be the first episode where the theme song vocals are changed. This would happen again later in the episode Swiper's Favorite Things.
- At the introduction and at the end of the episode, there will be a fade in and fade out effect, something that is also seen in Go, Diego, Go!.
- The Blue Cursor will no longer click on Dora at the end of the episode. However, it will still click on her before the final scene, the favorite parts.
- Dora's new design this season is from Go, Diego, Go!, as well as the double-length episodes Dora's Dance to the Rescue, Dora's World Adventure, and Dora Saves the Mermaids (her "Season 4, Version 4" look).
- The first episode not to feature the original end credits with Character Find. From now on, the credits would shows four clouds with clips from previous episodes with an instrumental version of the main theme song introduced from Season 3 playing at the end, but the ending of the song is different. This will be used in every new episode, including movies, from now on.
- The new credits style is very similar to the one used in Go, Diego, Go!, where it shows 4 clips of old episodes while the credits roll.
- The scenes from the credits are from Seasons 1-4.
- The first episode since the Season 1 episode Grandma's House to use the Comic Sans MS font during the credits.
- This is the first episode in which Boots makes his monkey sounds in his new voice.
- This is the third time in general after Treasure Island and El Día De Las Madres.
- The names of Dora's baby siblings, Guillermo and Isabella, are finally revealed in this episode after their last appearances in Season 4.
- This is the third episode where Guillermo and Isabella are regular babies and not super babies, the other two were Big Sister Dora and Catch the Babies.
- This is the 103rd episode of the show.
- Isa and Benny don't appear in this episode.
- This is one of the few episodes where the Fiesta Trio does not sing the Travel Song with Dora and Boots. In this case, Jack sang it in their place.
- This is also the 3rd episode where Dora's House is the answer to "Where are we going?". The other two being The Big Storm and Super Map.
- Backpack is not used in this episode.
- This episode premiered exactly 8 years after Treasure Island, 6 years after Pinto, the Pony Express, and 4 years after the Noggin premiere of To the South Pole (which was prior to its Nickelodeon premiere in January 2006).
- Map's dancing is recycled from Dora's Fairytale Adventure (like the previous episode for airing order).
- Tico's car is the same model, except that is red instead of yellow in this episode. It is possible that either his yellow car was broken and used a red one until it's fixed or he used a red color spray can to paint it and it will be good as new.
- This is the second episode where Dora and Boots visit a toy store (except it’s a different one in this episode), first being Bouncing Ball.
- When the Piano Gates sings the tune to three different songs, Dora and Boots had to match each song by singing it. This is similar to when Dora, Boots, Benny, and Isa had to guess what song the female Singing Gate is singing in the episode Dora, La Música. But the Singing Gate sang in la's and ended with a short lyric. Plus, she only gave two songs to guess.
- When Dora played the jack-in-the-box the first time, Jack actually did come out at the right time. She (Dora) just turned the handle too early before starting the song.
- The singing Piano Gate sings the same songs as the silly Singing Bridge in Dora's Pirate Adventure ("Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", and "Old MacDonald Had a Farm"), only in reverse order.
- If one looks closely, when Swiper is about to snap his fingers, he actually makes the starting position of the finger snap correctly (the middle finger and thumb pressed together), as opposed to other episodes where he does it wrong (using the index finger instead).
- This also happens in the opening sequence of Seasons 3-6, as well as the episode Rojo the Fire Truck, El Día De Las Madres, Doctor Dora, Best Friends, and Save Diego!. It will happen again in Little Map.
Goofs/Errors[]
- Unlike Bouncing Ball, in which Dora and Boots paid for the blue ball, when they left the toy store, they did not pay for the jack-in-the-box. In real life, it is against the law to leave a store without paying for its merchandise (because it is considered stealing).
- However, it is possible that Dora and Boots actually paid for the jack-in-the-box offscreen.
