Dora's Explorer Girls: Our First Concert is a television special featuring the now 10-year-old Dora and her Explorer Girls. It premiered on August 7, 2011 and was released on DVD on May 15, 2012.
Dora is growing up in the city of Puerto Verde and is very excited! She, along with her new friends Alana, Emma, Naiya, and Kate—The Explorer Girls!—are going to attend their first concert starring Shakira.
But suddenly, there's a problem. Alana was supposed to have their five tickets in an envelope marked with the first letter of each of their names. However, she accidentally donated her blue soccer jacket with the tickets still inside! Now the girls need your help to get them back before showtime.
Although this special premiered in 2011, it was made in 2010 according to the credits.
This is the first Dora media to be produced in high definition (HD). This will later become permanent in A Ribbon For Pinto (or Dora's Easter Adventure in production order).
Dora and her friends went to multiple places on their quest to get back their concert tickets.
Before Dora and Friends: Into the City! premiered, we learn that Alana is into sports; Naiya knows her way around cities that are ancient and modern and Emma is into music and can play the violin.
The quote "¡Vamos, Dora, vamos!" is heard by Naiya when Dora swings through the fair banners, quite reminiscent of Diego's "Al Rescate/Una Adventura" scene with Dora from Go, Diego, Go!.
On top of that, an instrumental remix of the Travel Song can be heard. Thus, giving it a rescue feel from the said series.
Despite this video being launched eight years before Let's Go to Music School, which launched in 2019, the events of this episode probably took place after the events of said episode. This most likely makes sense because Dora and her friends have gotten older, and Dora has moved from the rainforest to Playa Verde (formerly called “Puerto Verde”).
