Diego and Porcupine Save the Piñata (or just Save the Piñata) is the 5th episode of Go, Diego, Go! from Season 3.

In production order, it's the 2nd episode from Season 3.

Characters present[]

The Bobos accidentally made the piñata fly away, so Diego and Porcupine have to save it for Porcupine's birthday party before the rain cloud ruins it!

Facts about porcupines learned[]

  • Porcupines have prickly quills, not feathers like most birds.
  • Porcupines eat fruit, not crabs because they're herbivores.
  • Porcupines climb up trees, not buildings.
  • Porcupines live in the rainforest, not the snow because it's too cold.
  • Porcupines are afraid of pumas.

Piñatas found by Click[]

  • Circle shaped
  • Triangle shaped
  • Star shaped

Rescue Pack transformations[]

  • Wagon
  • Ladder
  • Rocket jetpack (referred to as just "Jet pack")

  • Rescue Pack doesn't say "Rocket jetpack". He simply calls it a "jetpack".
  • This is one of the few episodes where Diego goes back to the start. He had to do it anyway because he and Porcupine have to go back to the Rescue Center for the party.
  • Elements of this episode's plot would later be adopted into Diego's International Rescue League.
  • The Bobos did not cause any trouble in this episode, except they accidentally tied the balloons onto Porcupine's piñata, causing it to float away.
  • Baby Jaguar doesn't appear to join the porcupine's birthday in this episode.
  • The piñata in this episode is based on that seen on the Dora the Explorer episode The Big Piñata.
  • This could be Diego's version of Surprise!, The Big Piñata, and Whose Birthday is It?.
    • As for The Big Piñata, both involve piñatas.
    • As for Surprise! and Whose Birthday is It?, they involve birthdays.
      • Also, this and the third episode mentioned above both involve something containing everything needed for a birthday party, which are the piñata and the Birthday Balloon, respectively.
      • In addition, Surprise! also has a piñata, which was at Boots' birthday party at the Party House (Dora's House).

  • In real life (although it doesn't apply here due to cartoon logic):
    • Piñatas can't hold cakes.
    • Rain clouds can't just move to wherever people are; they naturally move at their own pace.
