Diego Reunites Hippo and Oxpecker is the 1^st episode of Go, Diego, Go! from Season 4, as well as the debut of the new cast (Diego is now voiced by Brandon Zambrano, etc.).

In production order, however, it's the 6^th episode of Season 4.

Summary

Hippo and Oxpecker are best buddies who help each other every day. Hippo did not pack a snack for himself, but when Oxpecker flies back to their old river to find him some plants to eat, he gets pulled into the river.

• There are a lot of firsts in this episode (going by airing order. In production order, these would apply to Puffin Fish Adventure):
  1. This is the first episode in Season 4, but the sixth one produced.
  2. Starting with this episode, Diego would be traveling internationally frequently. He would start the episode by saying which place or country he is in before the actual story starts.
  3. Starting with this episode, Diego is now voiced by Brandon Zambrano instead of Jake T. Austin. Meanwhile, Click is still voiced by Rosie Perez.
     • However, Jake T. Austin's voice still remains in the opening sequence when Diego yells "Wheeeeee!".
  4. Starting with this episode, Jed Becker served as the Music Composer and Director.
  5. This is the first time Diego wears his new outfit. He now wears a short-sleeved red sweatshirt with an orange top underneath, black cargos, white socks, and black and red sneakers.
     • His original outfit can still be seen in the opening sequence and during flashbacks in Fiercest Animals.
  6. Starting with this episode, Click no longer takes a picture after finding the animal in trouble, with the exception of Puffin Fish Adventure and Diego Rescues Prince Vicuña. Additionally, she no longer tells the viewer to say "Click" (in production order, this would begin in Where is Okapi's Brother?).
  7. This is the first time Diego goes solo in the Let's Review segment.
     • This will happen again in both Diego Rescues Prince Vicuña and Koala's Birthday Hug.
• This episode premiered on the same day as the rebrand on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., as well as Noggin, The N, and NickToons Network becoming the Nick Jr. Channel, TeenNick, and NickToons, respectively.
  • This also premiered the same day as the game show "BrainSurge".
• When Click says "No!", the audio is taken from Rescue of the Red-Eyed Tree Frogs! one time and An Underwater Mystery the other.
