Trivia[]
- This is the last episode to premiere in 2008.
- This is the first appearance of Yuki, Dora's friend from Japan.
- She (Yuki) will appear again in the Season 6 episode "Pepe the Pig's School Adventure" as one of Dora's classmates and in the Season 7 episode "School Science Fair" as Boots' teammate for the science fair.
- This is the final episode to air on the original Nick Jr. block brand (in the daytime) before it rebranded to Nick’s Play Date in February 2009, as the next episode, Dora Saves Three Kings Day was a primetime airing on Nickelodeon.
- This is the 107th episode of the show.
- Tico and Isa don't appear in this episode.
- Dora does not use Backpack and Map because she didn't have them.
- This episode also marks Backpack's third time being kidnapped overall. However, this time, she, along with Map, was kidnapped by the garbage truck, and therefore was not of used for the whole adventure.
- However, Backpack has had two incidents of being kidnapped by Swiper in the episodes, Backpack! and The Missing Piece, but she was found minutes later in both instances.
- A similar incident almost happened in We're a Team!, but Tico stopped Swiper before he could swipe Backpack (although he was mainly going for the green balls in that episode).
- However, Backpack has had two incidents of being kidnapped by Swiper in the episodes, Backpack! and The Missing Piece, but she was found minutes later in both instances.
- This marks Map's second time being kidnapped and not of use for the whole episode. First being Lost Map.
- In that episode, Map was kidnapped by the Big Silly Bird, while in this episode, Map, along with Backpack, was kidnapped by the garbage truck.
- This episode also marks the second instance where Dora talks like Map because he was gone. First being Lost Map, yet again. However, this time, after reviewing the places, she actually says "So remember…"
- However, this episode is rather different from the aforementioned episode in two ways (other than Backpack being kidnapped as well):
- The Picture Pop-Up Sequence is still featured in this episode, but only the second and third time.
- This is the first time the Picture Pop-Up Sequence appears without a Map segment.
- Additionally, this is the second time the Picture Pop-Up Sequence was used only twice. It was used the second and third time, just like in Star Catcher.
- This is the first time the Picture Pop-Up Sequence appears without a Map segment.
- Map (along with Backpack) actually panics and frowns upon being kidnapped by the Junk Truck.
- The Picture Pop-Up Sequence is still featured in this episode, but only the second and third time.
- In that episode, Map was kidnapped by the Big Silly Bird, while in this episode, Map, along with Backpack, was kidnapped by the garbage truck.
- This episode also marks Backpack's third time being kidnapped overall. However, this time, she, along with Map, was kidnapped by the garbage truck, and therefore was not of used for the whole adventure.
- The Travel Song is replaced by "Hooray, Hooray! Today is Junk Day!" where Dora and Boots pretend to use Benny's stuff he's got in his wagon.
- Even though Backpack and Map get taken away to the junky junkyard by accident, Map doesn't sing the I'm the Map song at all, not even once. Dora, Boots, and Benny don't sing it either before saying the places they got to go.
- The same applies for Backpack, who doesn’t sing her song at all.
- Backpack and Map agree with Dora's favorite part (getting them back) at the end of the episode.
- This marks the second time they have a favorite part after Super Map! (for Map) and The Backpack Parade (for Backpack).
- Coincidentally, the prequel to the former is Lost Map, in which Map gets lost.
- This marks the second time they have a favorite part after Super Map! (for Map) and The Backpack Parade (for Backpack).
- The Grumpy Old Troll does not come up with a riddle in this episode, he instead asks Dora, Boots, and Benny to match his sounds. Because of this, instead of saying, "Solve my riddle!" to end his song, he says, "Match my sounds!".
Goofs/Errors[]
- For some reason, Map does not fly back to Dora and Boots despite having that ability (he does this when he flies out of Backpack to his picture map). This could be for a number of reasons:
- Map probably forgot about his ability.
- It was probably too far for Map to fly back.
- Map most likely didn't want to leave Backpack behind.
- Unlike other episodes, when Dora, Boots, and Benny stop Swiper, they don't look at him. They instead look at the viewer.
- Something similar happens again in the Season 7 episodes, Dora's Moonlight Adventure and Dora and Diego's Amazing Animal Circus Adventure.
- This would make it look like the Dora, Boots, and Benny stopped the viewer.
- When Dora is pressing the numbers on the gate, she has Backpack on, most likely a mistake by the producers.
