+ | The episode starts after saving the 4 seasons from [[The Mixed-Up Seasons|the previous event]] with Dora and Boots playing at the beach with their friends, when they hear someone calling for help. It was a baby crab trapped in a net. Dora checks her Backpack for a cutting tool that can cut through the net. What Dora and Boots need to cut through the net is a pair of scissors (las tijeras). They get it out and with a snip-snip-snip, the baby crab was free. They introduce themselves to Baby Crab and asked him how he got caught in the net. Baby Crab explains to them that he has made a shell necklace, which is a present that he wanted to bring to his mother. Then all of a sudden, he got stuck in the net and he thought he would never get out. He starts to cry because he misses his mommy. Dora told Baby Crab not to cry, then Boots thought of a way to cheer him up: he moves like a crab. All of a sudden, it made Baby Crab smile. Dora and the viewer joined in. They shake their bodies and snapped their hands like a crab. Eventually, Baby Crab was all better. He even moves like a crab with Dora and Boots. After that, they all shouted "Ole!". Now that Baby Crab is all cheered up, he is ready to get home to his mommy. He searched all around the beach, but then comes back to Dora and Boots telling them he has a problem, which is that he doesn’t know where to find her. Dora and Boots told him not to worry and that they have a good friend (the Map) who can help. They check Map and he says that Mami Crab is on Crab Island. But before they can get there, they have to go through a sandcastle and jump over the Snapping Clams. Dora, Boots, and Baby Crab get going. When they entered the sandcastle, they wondered if anyone lives there. Just then, a squid with a drum and maracas came out and played some music. At the end of the song, the Squishy Squid said that he won’t let them through his castle unless they play his music, and they have to play very "squishy". When the squid plays a rhythm, they have to copy it. Dora, Boots, and Baby Crab know they can do it and they need the viewer's help. First, the Squishy Squid bangs his drum twice and he wants them to say "Boom, boom". The viewer, Dora, Boots, and Baby Crab do so. Next, the Squishy Squid bangs his drum and shakes his maracas twice. The rhythm now is "Boom-boom, shake-a, shake-a". They copy that rhythm and the Squishy Squid is impressed. Now, he wants them to say "Boom-boom, shake-a, shake-a, boom-boom". They do so and the squid is more impressed than before and that they are smart. Now he wants to see how smart they really are. He asks the viewer, Dora, Boots, and Baby Crab to say "Boom-boom, shake-a, shake-a, boom-boom, squish!". They do so and the Squishy Squid was so impressed that he lets them go through the sandcastle. They thank the Squishy Squid and they left the sandcastle. As they exited, they say the "Boom-boom, shake-a, shake-a, boom-boom, squish!" rhythm multiple times. After that, Dora, Boots, and Baby Crab shouted "Ole!". Now they check the Map to figure out where to go next. Map marks a checkmark by the sandcastle. Next, they have to jump over the Snapping Clams. Along the way, Swiper swipes Baby Crab's necklace, but with help from the viewer, he got it back. As Dora, Boots and Baby Crab approached the mountain of Snapping Clam, the clams play a conga beat. Boots wonders how to get over the mountain without getting snapped. Dora told him that when the clams snap, they have to jump. Baby Crab wonders how they know when the clams are going to snap. Dora says that they have to count to 5 and then jump. They climb up the mountain and went "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, jump". They watched closely to see when the clam will open so they can jump over it. Now, they go down the mountain and do the same thing. In no time, they made it over the Snapping Clams safely. Dora and Boots are getting so close to Crab Island to bring Baby Crab home. They check the Map once more to figure out where to go next. Map marks a checkmark by the sandcastle and the Snapping Clams. All they have to do now is go to Crab Island. Mami Crab gets worried about Baby Crab. He tells her that he is coming. They reach the ocean and find a boat. Dora and Boots put on their lifejackets for safety. Boots found out that there are no oars to row the boat. Baby Crab finds a rope on the boat and had an idea: since the oars are missing, he can pull the rope to get the boat to move. After a while, Baby Crab gets tired. Dora and Boots put their arms in front of them and helped him pull the boat. Not too long after that, they reached Crab Island. Baby Crab runs to his mommy and she is so glad to have him back home. He told her that he got stuck in a net but he made new friends that helped him get out of the net and brought him home. He then gives the shell necklace to his mommy and she loved it. Baby Crab then explains to her about the new song Dora and Boots made up about moving like crabs. Mami Crab wants to hear them sing the song. She also wanted the viewer to shake his/her body like a crab. They danced like crabs and snapped their hands. At the end of the song, they shouted "Ole!" twice. Mami Crab was impressed and enjoyed the song. She then thanked Dora and Boots for bringing Baby Crab home. |

Summary
A month after Dora and Boots saved the seasons, they heard a cry for help: it was a baby crab who got stuck in a net! The vacation day at the beach becomes an summer adventure when Dora, Boots, and the viewer help Baby Crab bring his shell necklace home to his mommy on Crab Island!
Plot
The episode starts after saving the 4 seasons from the previous event with Dora and Boots playing at the beach with their friends, when they hear someone calling for help.

Trivia
- The setting takes place at the beach.
- Dora and Boots wear their summer clothes throughout the episode. Dora is wearing the same bathing suit from Beaches and Boots is wearing blue swim trunks with bananas on it, which was the same swim trunks he wore in The Mixed-Up Seasons.
- Not only that, but the Fiesta Trio were also wearing summer clothing through the entire episode. The frog wears a pink shirt with green shapes and a bandanna with yellow spots, the grasshopper wears a light blue shirt with a straw hat, and the snail wears a green shirt with blue shapes.
- This episode premiered the day before An Underwater Mystery from Diego's show.
- Benny, Tico, and Isa do not speak in this episode.
- The premiere of this episode on (Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block) kicked off Nick Jr.'s Summer Beach Party which ran from June 25-28, 2007 (it was a week of new episodes of Dora the Explorer (this episode), Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans, and The Wonder Pets! and each premiered at 9am), and encored on the Friday after they premiered (June 29) airing in that same order.
- This episode was rereleased on August 7, 2009 when it premiered in Canada.
- Although this episode aired in 2005 (Nick Jr. UK), 2007 (Nickelodeon US and Noggin), and 2009 (Treehouse), it was actually produced in 2003 according to the end credits.
- Glimpses of this episode were shown as far back as 2004, when a scene from it was shown in the Nick Jr. on CBS intro (Boots snapping his hands).
- In some scenes of this episode, Dora has her Season 5/Go, Diego, Go! look.
- It is unknown how Swiper and the Fiesta Trio got to the beach.
- In production order, this is the last episode to find Baby Red Fish.
- This is the last episode where Dora and Boots listen for sounds.
- During the Travel Song:
- Dora says "Come on, say it with us!" with the audio taken from Lost and Found for the final time.
- After listing the place and singing the second stanza, Dora says "Now, let's snap our hands like a crab. Come on, put your hands in the air and snap, snap, snap" before the third stanza.
- Dora and Boots repeat "Snap, snap, snap" four times in the third stanza with the Season 1 instrumentals in place of the usual "Where are we going? (clap 3×) (destination)" sequence and "one more time" (while jumping in the air) in place of their destination (Crab Island).
- The aforementioned instrumentals were not just taken from Season 1, but also from the Season 2 episode The Big Storm, and the Season 3 episode Louder! (which are the episodes with no clapping after asking "Where are we going?").
- Unlike all other times, when Swiper swiped Baby Crab’s necklace, he did not say "You’re too late", he instead says "It's too late!".
- In the end of the favorite part, Boots shouts "Ole!" instead of Dora saying "Gracias!".
- This is the third time the "Whoo!" at the very end of the We Did It! song (just before the blue cursor clicks Dora) is said in Boots' own voice.
- This episode is somewhat a sequel to The Mixed Up Seasons.
- Dora and Boots are still wearing their summer clothes from Beaches and the aforementioned episode.
- They both feature the same animal except the one from the aforementioned episode is female and named "Sand Crab" while the one in this episode is male and named "Baby Crab".
- The same beach was used for this episode.
- The only difference is this episode is summer themed all the way. The Mixed-Up Seasons was only summer themed for a little bit, as it evolves around all four seasons.
- Another difference is that unlike the aforementioned episode and Beaches, Dora was wearing her tank top throughout the entire episode alone after wearing it with a straw hat in the prequel.
- Coincidentally, all three episodes (this, The Mixed-Up Seasons, and Beaches) are from the Summer Explorer DVD.
- Additionally, The Shy Rainbow, another episode made by Leslie Valdez, was filmed in between the two.
- When Dora and Boots feel sad of the Baby Crab getting caught in a net, one can clearly see that Dora's eyebrows are visible.
- Map does not zoom wipe in this episode.
- This episode premiered in the UK the same day the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pilot episode “Space Suit” was initially released.
- Eventually, Leslie Valdes, the creator of this episode, will go on to be the writer of that show until he returns to write Baby Bongo's Big Music Show. (Similar to how Eric Weiner left the show to focus on Little Einsteins and only came back to reprise his role as Scarecrow)
Goofs/Errors
- Both Baby and Mami Crab only have four legs, but in real life, crabs have eight legs.
- On the TVO Kids schedule, it lists this episode as "The Baby Crab", the word "The" is added to the title.
- When Dora says the "Yay!" line towards the end of "We Did It!", it uses the audio from the first three seasons.
