Trivia[]

  • The scene where Dora and Boots jump over the cactus snakes with Pinto and say, "¡Salta, Caballito!" was used in the "Nick Jr. The Smart Place to Play" promo from 2012-2015.
  • In this episode, Pinto is voiced by Drew Beasly.
  • This is the first episode for a few things:
    • This is, of course, the first aired episode of Season 7, but the second one produced.
    • This is the first episode to be broadcast and produced in 16:9 high definition.
    • This is the first episode to feature a new theme song by Calabash Animation, known for making commercials for iconic brands such as Lucky Charms, Trix, Little Caesars, and Honey Nut Cheerios.
    • This marks the official debut of Fátima Ptacek as Dora's new voice, with the previous season's episodes Swiper's Favorite Things, Dora's Knighthood Adventure, and Dora's Royal Rescue serving as a transition to Pre-Season 7.
    • Starting with this episode, Isa is no longer voiced by Lenique Vincent. Instead, she is now voiced by Skai Jackson.
      • Jackson also voiced the Little Fish on Season 1 of Bubble Guppies, and portrayed Zuri Ross in the Disney Channel series, The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody, The Suite Life on Deck, Jessie and its spin-off Bunk'd.
    • Starting with this episode, Dora no longer wears her original outfit from Seasons 1-6. Although she still wears her pink shirt and orange shorts (albeit with some modifications), she now wears pink shoes with white accents instead of her previous white shoes. Additionally, she no longer wears her yellow socks that stick up from out of her shoes either.
    • In TV airing order, this episode introduces a new format of the picture pop-up sequence: Dora taps the left side of the screen, and the three pictures slide in one by one. As each picture pops up, it bulges toward the screen and there is a "ding", the pitch increasing one at a time, the old picture pop-up sequence that just pops up by itself from previous episodes will soon never be used in later episodes from now on.
      • The squares' outlines are now purple instead of black.
      • Dora now goes over all three places before reviewing, like how she did in Seasons 1-2, making it the first time since León, the Circus Lion to do so (Dora's Easter Adventure would be the first to introduce such format in production order and the first time since Dora, La Música where Dora goes over all three places before reviewing).
      • In addition Dora asking where to go next, the next place to go will zoom forward with a musical chime instead of the blue cursor clicking on it.
    • This is the first episode where Map becomes a computer-generated (CG) character whenever Dora uses him to find out where she needs to go instead of his 2D design. The Fiesta Trio also now appear in CG when they sing with Map.
      • Map's zoom wipe has changed as of this episode. Instead of jumping at the camera with his mouth filling up the screen before dissolving to Dora, he now jumps to the left of the screen and flies to the right, transitioning to Dora behind him.
    • Starting with this episode, Dora's hair would become slightly shorter and wavier. This is an insignificant difference that would continue for the rest of Seasons 7 and 8.
  • This episode premiered on Groundhog Day 2012.
  • This episode premiered exactly 2 years after Let's Explore! Dora's Greatest Adventures was released on DVD.
  • This episode is a semi-remake sequel for Season 2's "Pinto the Pony Express", with some noticeable differences.
    • After Dora asks "Who do we ask for help, when we don't know which way to go?", Boots doesn't answer with "The Map!" in this episode.
    • Before Swiper appears in a tumbleweed the second time each in both episodes, he first appeared before the Map segment of this episode instead of after.
    • Swiper almost successfully swiped the ribbons the third time.
    • Backpack was not checked.
    • Out of Benny, Isa, and Tico, they all appeared in this episode, while Tico didn't appear in the other.
  • Dora wears the same purple hat from Pinto the Pony Express.
  • Map is seen in a cowboy hat in this episode.
  • This episode is Pinto's fourth and final appearance to date.
  • Although it's a Season 7 episode, it was aired during Season 6.
    • However, streaming providers like iTunes lists this episode and Dora in Wonderland as Season 7 episodes.
  • The Blue Cursor doesn't click on Dora at the end of We Did It!, it instead clicks on her cowgirl hat.
  • The Travel Song's role is taken by the new song, "Galopa, Galopa" for this episode.
  • Swiper's donkey wears the same blue mask that he does.
  • Boots' actor Regan Mizrahi posted on Facebook that Jimmy Kimmel altered a shot from the episode involving animal abuse towards a horse.
  • Dora and Boots both said "Say, 'Map'! Say, 'Map'!" when asking the viewer to check Map instead of just Boots.
  • This was the first episode to air on the Nick Jr. Channel when returning on February 7, 2023 after being pulled off on September 29, 2020.
