  • Blue morpho butterflies have two different sides of wings; when open, they're blue, when closed, they're brown with spots that look like eyes, not green.
  • Blue morpho butterflies like to drink from the fruit that has fallen on the ground, not rotten eggs because they smell and taste bad.
  • Blue morpho butterflies are afraid of jay birds.
  • Blue morpho butterflies can open and close their wings to confuse their predators.
  • Blue morpho butterflies can fly. They cannot swim.
  • Blue morpho butterflies live in the rainforests of Central America, not the desert.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second time "Vuela" is sung, after Three Little Condors.
  • This episode is where Jose Zelaya's second recording of the Bobos' "Whoops! Sorry!" catchphrase (after his first shot from Rescue of the Red-Eyed Tree Frogs!) originated.
  • This is the first episode in which Diego returns to where he started from after finishing his rescue/adventure (or second in production order with the first being Diego's Wolf Pup Rescue).
    • This is reminiscent to where his cousin Dora returns to the exact same location from the beginning of the episode after she reaches the final destination on the map.
  • When Diego and Alicia said "Say it louder!" during the animal ending song, one could barely hear Diego, unlike in Linda the Librarian, when they said it, Diego can be heard nice and clear.
  • This episode, as well as The Butterfly Ball, reveals that butterflies can get sick or fall asleep if cold. However, one can blow on a butterfly to warm it up.
  • During the Let's Review, the "fly" choice in the second question ("Does a blue morpho butterfly swim or fly?") would share the same image as the "butterfly" choice in the fourth question ("Is a pygmy marmoset afraid of a hawk or a butterfly?") in A Booboo on the Pygmy Marmoset and the second question ("Are river otters afraid of a butterfly or a caiman?") in Diego and Alicia Save the Otters.
  • The two wrong animals found in the cave are a bat and an owl.
  • Although it premiered in 2006 on Nickelodeon, Noggin and on DVD, it was made in 2005 according to the credits.
